What has everybody been doing on Boxing Day

Husband, grown up son and I have just slobbed around in our pyjamas all day & part of me thinks what a waste of a day! In the old days when I was a kid we used to have big family parties with people sleeping on the floor as all the beds were taken. We've all been busy doing nice Xmassy stuff in the run up to Xmas, then the big day itself. Had quite a few people for dinner & evening buffet. Me & my sister & our husbands could have got together today & perhaps invited others but we've both ran out of steam. Feel like we're missing out on some brilliant Boxing Day extended family get togethers like we used to have in the 70's.

Had a nice brunch of leftovers with the in laws before they left. DC's have been building lego ad other crafty stuff they got for Christmas. I watched a random documentary and fell asleep on the sofa. Every time I feel a little less full I snack on leftovers.

Sodding nothing as I'm bloody ill. All the extended family get together at my aunts and everyone but me has gone, including my 8 year old DD. I'm feeling bloody sorry for myself. Watching ratatouille on TV and debating what effect baileys will have on my sinuses.

Im unwell, dh is at work. The kids have helped a bit with cleaning and looking after the dog in between playing with their new stuff and watching films. I have been pottering around cleaning and tidying but not in any mad rush just gently. watched gavin and stacey special again for the second time but with the kids.

I must admit, after the rush of Christmas day (albeit thoroughly enjoyable) I love boxing day as a chill out day. I need a day or so to recharge my batteries and there are plenty of family get togethers happening over the next week or so. Embrace it op!

Had a lovely lie in. Walked the dog, got back home and into clean pj's as we got soaked on the walk.
Eaten crap, watched tv, had a bit of a tidy up and a look through some of our gifts, just doing some fresh roast potatoes to go with all the leftovers from yesterday and about to have a glass of champagne.
Just the 3 of us all day, it's been lovely!

Changed the beds, put a wash on. Gave the kitchen a good clean.
Watched a couple of trashy films. Not doing any cooking today , just eating nibbly bits .
Been in pjs since about 4pm , not planning to do anything else except watch tv and munch on all our goodies.
