What has everybody been doing on Boxing Day

Husband, grown up son and I have just slobbed around in our pyjamas all day & part of me thinks what a waste of a day! In the old days when I was a kid we used to have big family parties with people sleeping on the floor as all the beds were taken. We've all been busy doing nice Xmassy stuff in the run up to Xmas, then the big day itself. Had quite a few people for dinner & evening buffet. Me & my sister & our husbands could have got together today & perhaps invited others but we've both ran out of steam. Feel like we're missing out on some brilliant Boxing Day extended family get togethers like we used to have in the 70's.

Back to work - dreading the alarm going off in the morning!

I'm staying with parents atm. We all had a really good lie in, started filling in our new new calendars and then did a bumper bonus crossword together and watched some Christmas TV. Then DM and I polished off the tail end of a chocolate orange and a lot of left over wine and champagne and watched Nicolas Cage films Blush. We've had left overs for meals today too. It's been lovely!

Drank far too much wine throughout the eveninv and ate smoked cheese before bed. Had a horrendous nightmare and was in hysterical choking tears for over an hour at 1am about all sorts of ongoing issues with my poor DP trying to reason with me. This isn't the first time this has happened. He deserves so much better and I now have the horrors and feel like the worst person in the world.

Spent the day watching films, eating chocolate and reading one of my new books, then in the evening family came over for dinner and games! Boxing Day used to make me feel sad as a kid but as an adult I love it!
