I still have wrapping to do!!! Need to clean the house ready for guests tomorrow. Dp is working but want to do something nice with the dc. We may go for a walk and attend a carol service later. Then it'll be hot chocolate and party food this evening.

I really wanted to do something festive and memorable but a bit limited on options locally and still so much practical stuff to do!

Looking after a kid with norovirus - puts things into perspective and the rest will all have to wait

Disillusioneddaisy · 24/12/2019 08:10

@Timmythatyou oh no, sorry to hear that! It's awful when they're ill but even worse at Christmas. Hope your dc improves enough to enjoy tomorrow a little

Eat - drink - be merry

FiveGoMadInDorset · 24/12/2019 08:12

Wrapping presents, waiting for new dishwasher to arrive as the new one delivered last Friday was broken, meeting friends in pub this afternoon and then nephews in same pub later on this evening

checkingforballoons · 24/12/2019 08:12

Visiting some friends and family for last minute present delivery, quick tidy/clean, flopping with Christmas movies later. We had a pyjama day yesterday and I enjoyed it a bit too much. Don’t want to leave the house today!

Sofast · 24/12/2019 08:12

Both my girls are full to the brim with cold, 18m old is particularly poorly so a rest day on the couch and hopefully a walk later for some air

EatDessertFirst · 24/12/2019 08:12

Working till 7pm. Happy Christmas everyone!

11hairylegs · 24/12/2019 08:15

I was hoping to do something festive too and also don’t really know what!
My teen dc is ill so it might end up having to be watching a Christmas film with pjs on or something along those lines.
Before then though I’ll be dropping off a few pressies and trying to blitz the house a bit.

Frariedeamin · 24/12/2019 08:16

Lying flat on my back as I broke some vertebrae in a car accident last week. Crown Sad

beguilingeyes · 24/12/2019 08:16

At work til 9 am. May go to the Christmas Eve meat auction at Smithfield Market, as much for the spectacle as anything else..I've never been.

Disillusioneddaisy · 24/12/2019 08:17

@11hairylegs I think I'm putting a bit of pressure on myself to make it a really great day as dc are spending most of tomorrow with their dad and family. Realistically they'll be happy doing a bit of baking and going out this afternoon and then having all the usual Christmas Eve food traditions tonight. But I sort of feel that I should be taking them to some sort of grotto or doing something super festive 🙈

Could do with popping to my local retail park to grab something new for my girls to wear tomorrow as we're off to my parents tomorrow, also need to grab a new hoover as the dog broke ours 😤 Got a tonne of wrapping to do but I'll do that once the kids are in bed as it's all their l toys.

MsChnandlerBong · 24/12/2019 08:19

Working 👍

TheWernethWife · 24/12/2019 08:19

Cooking a ham and making a trifle.

Mrsjayy · 24/12/2019 08:19

Getting my eyebrows done, then wrapping presents that dh normally does but poor sod has the flu Xmas Sad

IggyAce · 24/12/2019 08:19

Going to the cinema, popping into my parents to exchange gifts and baking cookies. I will give a last tidy and sort out ironing and a load of washing.

Rockbird · 24/12/2019 08:20

Out with family for breakfast, then a couple of errands. Then Santa and a crib service this afternoon. Then home via a decorated houses tour for a takeaway or party food if we managed to get any. New pjs and hot choc plus a Christmas film and four hours waiting for the kids to go to bloody sleep! Xmas Grin

FVFrog · 24/12/2019 08:20

Quick tidy of house, walk dog, couple of last minute presents to wrap, prep the turkey and make the bread sauce, local bar at @5 with kids (all over 18!) to meet friends and neighbours for a quick festive drink and then back to the house for dinner with said kids and my Mum who is staying. Happy Christmas Eve Xmas Smile

Salene · 24/12/2019 08:21

M&S at 9 to collect meat
Then home and some board games with kids (age3/5)
Early lunch then heading to a Santa steam train ride
Then to visit sister and mother to collect gifts
Home for 5pm, Xmas eve boxes for kids and watch Xmas movies

Kids in bed at 7pm
Then mad panic to wrap all there bleeding gifts

Mrsjayy · 24/12/2019 08:21

@Disillusioneddaisy stay home spend the day with your kids.

TheSquitz · 24/12/2019 08:21

Will have a good brisk walk and possibly a coffee shop stop with the newspaper while DH goes out on his bike. Then after lunch we'll watch The Muppet Christmas Carol (tradition) and I'm going to Mass this evening.

atankofskunks · 24/12/2019 08:22

Decorating the Christmas cake and going to see a panto.

Catapillarsruletheworld · 24/12/2019 08:23

I’ll be wrapping presents (all the kids still to do 😫). Cooking stuff, taking the kids to the cinema to watch frozen 2.
Then this evening my sister is arriving. So I’ll be picking her up from the station and making dinner for everyone.

I’m just happy to be off work, it’s the first time in 15 years that I’ve had more than one day off over Christmas.

Hugsgalore · 24/12/2019 08:23

Baking Santa's cookies with my dd and going for a long walk to hope it knocks her out later!

Georgiemcgeorgeface · 24/12/2019 08:23

My DC is full of cold but we're soldiering on. Lazy morning with a fry up breakfast. cinema this afternoon and then last minute wrestle to M&S just before closing time. Don't need anything but I'm hoping to grab some bargains.
