I still have wrapping to do!!! Need to clean the house ready for guests tomorrow. Dp is working but want to do something nice with the dc. We may go for a walk and attend a carol service later. Then it'll be hot chocolate and party food this evening.

I really wanted to do something festive and memorable but a bit limited on options locally and still so much practical stuff to do!

We're currently having an oven fitted. DP is working this morning (in the spare room). I need to go to a shop to pick something up for DS's Christmas but other than that, we've no actual plans. I'm going to cook an actual dinner tonight for the first time in over a week.

U2HasTheEdge · 24/12/2019 11:02

I did not sleep last night as my scratchy throat kept me awake all night. My cold has ramped up and I feel like utter shit.

Today I am cooking the turkey and cooking sausage rolls. My husband is now off to run some last minute errands. At some point we will watch a Xmas movie.

YouTheCat · 24/12/2019 11:03

I have completed the wrapping. Dd is watching anime and I'm going to read for a bit.

Dp is going to get some last minute bits on his way home from work.

nononever · 24/12/2019 11:05

Butterfly your tatties will be just fine in the fridge. Just back from buying the bottle of gin I wanted as a little extra for my husband. Drove straight in got parked no problem, bought the gin, drove out all within 5 minutes and the queue waiting for the car park was horrendously long.

GraceQuirrell · 24/12/2019 11:06

Part way through cooking the Turkey (I always do mine Xmas eve saves a panic tomorrow if something were to go wrong) Gammon just finished in the Instant Pot just got to glaze it and pop it in the oven for 20 mins one the Turkey comes out. Trying to think of what we can have for lunch since it seems thats the thing I "forgot" when doing my final shop Xmas Smile. Hubby is loading the car to take a load of big boxes and stuff from the garage to the dump as we need to make space for best friends huge wheelchair on Boxing day.

nononever · 24/12/2019 11:07

I don't actually feel festive in the slightest though.

Same here. Even our weekend in Edinburgh recently didn't feel as festive as usual.

Dollymixture22 · 24/12/2019 11:10

We bake for Santa! It’s mayhem

cakebythepound1234 · 24/12/2019 11:31

A bit of a lazy day today- DH was at work this morning but he's now home so Christmas has officially been declared. This morning DS and I went for a swim (trying to wear him out so he isn't up all excited most of the night!), now he's playing with some toys. In a little while we'll crack open the nuts, crisps and chocolates, pop on a Christmas movie and then tonight we'll order a pizza. Once DS is bathed and in bed we'll put the gifts under the tree, open a bottle of wine we've been saving and watch something Christmassy.

Notcool1984 · 24/12/2019 11:49

Going to see a Star Wars with DC and then maybe get some dinner out (if anywhere has a table haha) back to mine to put out mince pies etc for Santa!

DailyMailHater · 24/12/2019 12:03

Been out to put flowers on grandparents graves, which is a tradition for our family on Xmas eve morning. Have finished all housework, wrapping was completed yesterday. So just chilling with DS watching films now, we will make cookies later and then when DH gets home from work it is Xmas pjs, bored games and takeaway 🥡 the last few years I have promised that Xmas eve will be calm chilled day rather than rushing around - it has made a huge difference to my enjoyment of Christmas as a mum.

Keepmewarm · 24/12/2019 12:36

Everyone’s day sounds so lovely!
My dc are at their dads until this afternoon and I’ve woken up with a horrid cold.
Dh has gone shopping (I told him months ago that all he had to do was buy for his step dad).
I’ve tidied the front room and bit of the kitchen (our table was hidden under piles of craft) and wrapped the rest of the presents today while watching Christmas films and eating chocolate.
I’m going to do the rest of the house in a bit before everyone is back and we will make ginger bread later and hopefully play monopoly whilst getting merry!
For now I’ve given up and I’m in the bath.

Sn0tnose · 24/12/2019 14:06

Everything is done, all presents wrapped, all food bought. Everyone has been visited and all cards delivered.

DH is working this morning. I’ve had a last minute tidy up and I’m currently procrastinating on here and watching Death on the Nile rather than making sausage rolls etc for a buffet dinner this evening, to watch with A Christmas Carol. Think I might go and have a bubble bath. Just me and DH this year and I’m so excited.

cato75 · 24/12/2019 14:14

Cooking a ham and prepping veg whilst listening to a Ngaio Marsh novel on audiobook. Going to open a bottle of wine when DH gets in from work and watch Death on the Nile.

mamaduckbone · 24/12/2019 14:16

I did last minute wrapping and cleaning this morning, shouted at the grumpy preteen and stroppy teen, then dragged everyone out to the farm shop to pick up some cheese, walked through the park, went for a coffee / hot chocolate, which restored festive cheer.Grin
I've helped ds2 bag up his homemade chocolates for grandparents / godparents, now chilling for a bit before I go and get ready for church/pub. I might even paint my nails...

Babyg1995 · 24/12/2019 14:23

Cleaning and fresh bedding on cook meat for steak pie tomorrow then will do the Christmas eve boxes for dcs baths hot chocolate and Christmas movies hopefully get dcs to bed around 10 .

Trafalger · 24/12/2019 14:28

Looking after a nearly 3 year old with the flu (even after having the flu jab) and trying to tidy up the house and cook stuff for christmas. My mum is due over soon to stay and at least she can help with the toddler and have her on her also for a while.

Oldraver · 24/12/2019 17:51

Calling into B+Q to exchange some rail then go to DS's to fit it.

We've been off since Thurs/ Friday so it's been quite chilled

MitziK · 24/12/2019 17:55

Fuck all. It's all done and is ready to go tomorrow.

I'll most likely have a bath later. And maybe drag a dress out of the second wardrobe to wear tomorrow if it still does up

HoomanMoomin · 24/12/2019 18:04

Went to M&S to get a dragon fruit for my 4yo DD and actually got it! She’s been asking for it for 2 months now and this was a third time this week I went there, so I am incredibly happy.
After that I took DC to see Frozen 2 and then we came home. I still have baking to do today. So quite busy.

TheElfFellOffTheShelf · 24/12/2019 18:09

Dh went to work and the dc and I stayed home doing nothing. We've had hot chocolate and a mince pie and now we're watching the Muppet's Christmas Carol before they go to bed. We've nothing to prepare for tomorrow so we'll have tea, watch TV and go to bed ourselves.

Twinklelikethechristmastree · 24/12/2019 18:10

Frantically trying to make my house look perfect....

cookiemon666 · 24/12/2019 18:14

Arnoldthecat · 24/12/2019 18:24

Hopefulmidwife · 24/12/2019 18:42

I worked, however I was allowed to go at 1500 so a lovely surprise (especially in the NHS! Grin) I went home actually and snoozed as I had a really bad headache. Waiting for my partner to finish at 8pm (also NHS) then Xmas can begin! Hurrah

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 24/12/2019 19:03

I got DD home from hospital😁.

Just in time for christmas after a 5 day stay with her second bout of bronchiolitis in 2 months 🙄. Now to catch up with all my present wrapping with a glass of Bailey's!
