I still have wrapping to do!!! Need to clean the house ready for guests tomorrow. Dp is working but want to do something nice with the dc. We may go for a walk and attend a carol service later. Then it'll be hot chocolate and party food this evening.

I really wanted to do something festive and memorable but a bit limited on options locally and still so much practical stuff to do!

Not much now, our plans have gone out the window after two out of four kids woke in the early hours throwing up 🤮

YouTheCat · 24/12/2019 09:01

I have a small amount of wrapping to do (in a minute). Then I was planning on slobbing about, wrapped in a blanket, reading for a bit. I bake a Christmas buffet for Christmas Eve so I'll start putting that together at about 3 (I've already made all the pastry). Need to chuck some icing on the Christmas cake and do a brief tidy.

Later on we might watch Witcher. Grin

FlashingFedora · 24/12/2019 09:10

Family Christmas eve party this afternoon which I'm supposed to be baking for but currently trying to get a stray cat out from under my bed where he's been since yesterday! When I do get him out I need to get him into a box and off to the cat rescue 15 miles away Confused. If anyone has any helpful ideas they'd be most appreciated. I am used to handling cats but he's a bit feisty and doesn't tolerate handling.

YeOldeTrout · 24/12/2019 09:10

Work writing a shopping list for my 20yo. He needs to buy beer for the binmen & I'm teaching him how to make lasagne tonight. Then we'll watch Die Hard.

YeOldeTrout · 24/12/2019 09:12

Ps: bloody hell, FraerieD. Hope the days pass quickly.

orangejuicer · 24/12/2019 09:14

Not much, pootling around the house, some tidying, maybe some baking. Christmas films on tv! [Grin]

GreyGardens88 · 24/12/2019 09:15

Going out to do my hobby for a couple of hours (once - if - the rain stops).

dottiedodah · 24/12/2019 09:15

Koalablue · 24/12/2019 09:17

We're going to the drive in to see Star Wars.

Alte · 24/12/2019 09:22

I'll probably be spending today trying to get one child out of bed and the other to calm down Xmas Grin

Bombaybunty · 24/12/2019 09:22

Waiting for the last Christmas present to arrive.

Not impressed with the service from the company, I've been given 2 delivery dates so far. Neither have been honoured. I'm so pissed off.

Pilot12 · 24/12/2019 09:23

Looking after a sick four year old, a fussy six month old, vegetable prep, make braised red cabbage, homemade coleslaw, start trifle, somehow try and get it all in fridge, deliver neighbours cards, assemble new high chair, bath kids and put Santa presents into the sacks when the kids are asleep.

DP will have a nice lie until lunch time then moan that I have left him the vacuuming!

AnuvvaMuvva · 24/12/2019 09:28

I'm pretty up to date on tasks as I made a huge Power List and just went through it like a machine.

So it's just nice stuff now. Cinema, party food, board games. 🎉

itbemay1 · 24/12/2019 09:33

Going for a mammogram!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 24/12/2019 09:40

Shutting doors mainly Hmm

(We live in an old house which can be draughty if you leave all the internal doors open. ILs are here for Xmas and never close the doors, or even push them to, yet at the same time are complaining they're cold. I'm hoping they'll make the connection between the two very soon before I lose my shit )

RiftGibbon · 24/12/2019 09:44

Wrapping the last few gifts for family. Cleaning a floor
Making the spare room guest-ready
Decorating the fireplace with greenery

nononever · 24/12/2019 09:45

Get well soon to all those who are poorly 💐. Love the idea of a Doggy Christmas party! I'm counting down the minutes until 10am so I can buy a bottle of gin. Picked up my shopping from Markies this morning and then drove to the supermarket, parked up and headed in before it clicked, no booze sales till 10am.

eitak22 · 24/12/2019 09:46

Iron and pack for going to family then write last 3 cards followed by bacon sarnies. Clean the kitchen post breakfast ready got pur time away.

About 3 head to town for a few last min things and coffee before heading to church to lead 2 Christingle services. Will finish the day at my mums with chinese.

Okbutno · 24/12/2019 09:46

Currently having crackers and cheese for breakfast. Out for lunch. We will pick up a few bits while in town. (more cheese and crackers as we've eaten lots!) then dropping in to a family open house this afternoon. Then home for Christmas films, video games, sherry and maybe more food if I've got room! Hope every one has a good day. And those working don't find it too difficult. I've been there!

nononever · 24/12/2019 09:47

Lying flat on my back as I broke some vertebrae in a car accident last week.

Oh no, how awful for you, hope your recovery is speedy.

NataliaOsipova · 24/12/2019 09:48

Going to the theatre....if my DH actually gets back from running around after the in laws who’ve been on the phone first thing with various household problems.....

Mypathtriedtokillme · 24/12/2019 09:49

I mowed my lawn and trimmed a hedge, made chocolate eclairs and then biscuits for Santa with my girls.
Went to my in-laws for dinner.
About to wrap the last of the gifts, Santa, some TV then bed.

Meruem · 24/12/2019 09:49

My Christmas Eve is nearly over as I’m in Japan visiting my DS! (9hrs ahead here). We went to Lego land today. They had all the major Japanese landmarks built in Lego which was cool. Nothing to prepare for tomorrow as we are just getting the Christmas KFC as per Japanese tradition Wink

Vinorosso74 · 24/12/2019 09:53

Currently nursing a hangover. Managed to do the morning visit to the cats I'm cat sitting for without puking.
Got a couple of bits to wrap, DD wants to bake cakes, prep veg for tomorrow and clean the flat. Luckily DP finishes work at lunchtime.

BarkandCheese · 24/12/2019 10:02

We were planning on having a day out, but fortunately hadn’t booked anything as when I got up this morning I found a grey DH on the sofa complaining of an upset stomach 😱. I’m really hoping he’s got food poisoning, it’s possible, we went to the Chinese buffet yesterday (DD’s choice, it was her birthday) but only time, and our stomachs’, will tell.

A pp has just reminded me that there is a doggy Christmas party on our common today so I think DD, dog and I will go to that instead.
