I still have wrapping to do!!! Need to clean the house ready for guests tomorrow. Dp is working but want to do something nice with the dc. We may go for a walk and attend a carol service later. Then it'll be hot chocolate and party food this evening.

I really wanted to do something festive and memorable but a bit limited on options locally and still so much practical stuff to do!

About to vacuum ( had sickness bug Friday and only just getting back to normality).Seeing most of the in-laws this afternoon. Trying to take it easy this evening and waiting to see how long it takes my 9 year old to get to sleep so I can get presents down from top of wardrobe Xmas Smile

Kenworthington · 24/12/2019 10:09

Was meant to be going to be going for brunch with dh and the teen dc but my mum has some weird turn in the night so now I’m over with her checking she’s ok whilst everyone else is out having a nice time.

chillychicken · 24/12/2019 10:12

We’ve had a tidy up & I’ve set the table for dinner tonight. I’ve got two presents to wrap, a couple to deliver, flowers to buy and then home to watch a Christmas film or two Xmas Grin

I wanted to do something really festive today as we’ve had a shocking year and none of us are wanting Christmas this year, but it hasn’t worked out that way. Weirdly it feels right though.

AmaNameChanged1 · 24/12/2019 10:12

Haircuts for children
Food shop
Waiting for a last min delivery
Wrapping some bits
Clean and tidy house
Then it should be about midnight 🙄

festivefrustration · 24/12/2019 10:12

Currently laying on the sofa.
Kids are watching nonsense TV.
OH is cleaning the bathroom.

We’re doing bag packing later then got a couple of last minute things to collect.

Planning to go ice skating then out for dinner. When we get home we will make some cookies for Santa!

littlepaddypaws · 24/12/2019 10:15

as pagans we are chilling out after celebrating the winter solstice on sunday, big clear up starts tomorrow Sad

MoreSexPleaseImBritish · 24/12/2019 10:17

"working"

itgetshardereveryday · 24/12/2019 10:17

3yo DS and I have colds so we're currently in bed. Will need to get up in a minute to give the main bathroom a quick wipe over (DH has done kitchen) and give downstairs a Hoover.

We're going to my mums later for an early dinner before church.

Legoeverywhere92 · 24/12/2019 10:19

I need Xmas pudding. So will be out the house searching with my 3 year in tow [help]

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 24/12/2019 10:21

Kids still in bed.
Been to the coop to buy lots of reduced stuff. Like a whole chicken for 80p, 2 sweet chilli salmon fillets for £1, fresh scampi for 70p and a loaf for 22p.

Off for a hill walk then pub for lunch and home to do the veg

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/12/2019 10:24

Finishing up the cleaning, then some work.
I've also got to go to the supermarket and I'd like to do some baking.
This evening we will have a nice meal and snuggle up on the sofa.

Sorry for all the poorlies and sorry about the accident Frariedeamins

XXBeckiXX · 24/12/2019 10:33

We are going out for an all you can eat buffet with the kids and family. The walk through Xmas markets in town. Home to open Xmas eve box and Xmas movie. Spend hours trying to persuade the kids to go to sleep. Thankfully all the wrapping is doneGrin

Selfsettling3 · 24/12/2019 10:35

UnnecessarilyUpset sounds similar to my day. I was at the doctors with the baby at 8.30. It was great for them to fit us in but it means I will need to fit in washing my hair later in the day.

DH is taking the 3 year old swimming and this afternoon I will make nigella Christmas muffins and stained glass biscuits with her.

We could do with tidying up downstairs and running the hoover round.

Tighnabruaich · 24/12/2019 10:39

Finishing work early, hopefully at lunch-time, going home. Feet up.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 24/12/2019 10:42

DD had an early morning swim session and now she's been packed off to her dad's until Boxing day. So, I'm tiding the house, wrapping and studying today.

Tomorrow I'll spend the day with my parents and siblings having a 'grown up' christmas, relaxing, eating, drinking and watching more grown up films not suitable for Dd. Then when DD comes back we have Christmas from scratch with our Christmas eve on Friday and Christmas on Saturday.

TheDogsMother · 24/12/2019 10:44

Packed the car up with Christmas food, presents and dog and now driving to a holiday cottage on the Devon coast. Lovely Smile

GetOffTheTableMabel · 24/12/2019 10:46

Waiting for the plumber that our landlord says is on the way!
No hot water or heating and the problem with the boiler is occasionally tripping the electricity too.
My parents and sister are on their way to stay until 27th.
I’m sure my mother will take this in her stride, will not bang on about it further increasing the stress in the area until DH blows his stack. [sceptical]

PositiveVibez · 24/12/2019 10:47

Having a family meet up at our local pub/restaurant as it's my daughter's and sisters birthday today so we'll exchange gifts.

Later on tonight I'll be cooking a gammon joint and peeling spuds in prep for tomorrow.

ooopsupsideyourhead · 24/12/2019 10:48

Booths at 8:30 for food collection.

Home since 9 and toddler DC and I have been glued to the box ever since - our living room with the stove lit is our only warm room and ceebeebies keeps them away from it 😂

DH due home from work around 2.

Crib service this afternoon and then home for casserole and carols from kings 😁

twoturtledove · 24/12/2019 10:50

Tidying the house, watching TV then going to Miller & Carter for dinner later!

AllergicToAMop · 24/12/2019 10:50

Nothing, it's already my ChristmasGrin

Just chilling watching movies, munching, then later making Christmas dinner no.1 (emall thing compare to British one) which is just frying something since the other part is ready. Opening drinks and pressies, more movies, board games.

Perfect day!

Butterflyflower1234 · 24/12/2019 10:52

Currently working then I need to visit the crematorium and go home to walk the dogs and peel the potatoes (they'll be ok in water in the fridge, right?).

After that I want a nice glass of wine, put the fire on and watch some TV.

SunshineAngel · 24/12/2019 10:53

Pretty much nothing, actually. Everything is wrapped and ready, Dad is doing Christmas Dinner and I have everything that I need to take .. the only thing I will be doing is watching films, drinking tea, eating, and having a long bath and washing my hair later on.

I don't actually feel festive in the slightest though. I'm a bit sad about it really.

MooseBreath · 24/12/2019 10:58

Work until this afternoon, then driving across the country to stay with the in-laws. Last child free Christmas for DH and I!
