In the last thread, Trump was impeached by Congress. Now the question is when the articles will be sent to the Senate for Trial, as - at this stage - there is no guarantee from Mitch McConnell of a fair trial. Trump clings to his belief that his call to Zelensky was “perfect”.

~4hrs after the Iranians have launched missiles against US bases I'd expect Iranian defence forces to be on high alert for us retaliation - whether drones or fighters. The 737 was late departing (ie not quite in expected time slot) & was still at relatively low level so decision times would have been short - nervous soldier syndrome basically - as you say motiveless unless black ops - but I always prefer the simple cockup as explanation

I really don't understand what game Collins is playing.

It's been obvious for at least a couple of years, although China has a separate agenda, IMO. They're conducting a financial operation, while Russia with NK and Iran are more on the military (nuclear) front.

In relation to Iran, I'd say more than Republican Senators, Trump has been egged on by Bibi and the Saudis. But it's better for him to pass on the message that there's an internal reason.

Having said that, Putin may or may no be a genius, but such tensions play to his hands. Not leading to WWII, but to restore his influence and importance in key countries around Russia, as in the old days.
