In the last thread, Trump was impeached by Congress. Now the question is when the articles will be sent to the Senate for Trial, as - at this stage - there is no guarantee from Mitch McConnell of a fair trial. Trump clings to his belief that his call to Zelensky was “perfect”.

Well, no, actually she wasn't. Her party lost its majority and she went back to being leader of the minority. That really is not being thrown out.

Merry Xmas All!! It's just early morning here and I just got up. Some of you are probably starting to sit down to dinner, others are crawling into bed after a long wonderful day.

I'm sitting watching the fire with DH and DDog, drinking Xmas Coffee (coffee, mocha mix, Amaretto, and cream) waiting for DS2 to wake up.

OK I know that's not happening but I can dream, can't I?

Except Trump. I hope he is having an absolutely horrible day worrying about impeachment and what it may mean to his profits, which are the only things he cares about apart from himself.

You don’t really think he’ll be removed, surely? There’s absolutely no way that’s where this is headed.

I’m no Trump fan, but his polling numbers are up, the economy’s doing well and he’s almost certainly going to be re-elected in 2020.

I thought the economy was doing well apart from all the people going bankrupt or losing their businesses because of his policies?

But who are the Democrats actually going to win over to their side with this impeachment action? It will please the Democrat base, but they were always going to vote Democrat anyway.

For people for whom Trump is “their guy”, it for those who are undecided, this is not a good look. It is extremely partisan, it follows 2 years of what appears to be constant blinding of the President which never really seems to come to anything, and for the average person it’s unclear what Trump’s actually being impeached for.

It pays the read or watch the “opposite” side sometimes. In news and YouTube channels
not completely dominated by sheer blind hatred of Trump, this is going down incredibly badly - they are appalled, or they find it hilarious, or they see it as persecuting him. And he knows that and is playing to it.

Believe it or don’t believe it, I don’t care, but he will most definitely not be removed, and he is very likely to win in 2020 given the terrible candidates the Dems are fielding. It’s pathetic and sad.
