Happy Impeachment! Next step is removal. (Trump thread 98)

In the last thread, Trump was impeached by Congress. Now the question is when the articles will be sent to the Senate for Trial, as - at this stage - there is no guarantee from Mitch McConnell of a fair trial. Trump clings to his belief that his call to Zelensky was “perfect”.

The sooner he is away the better. Time for some sanity but god knows who that would be.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/01/2020 11:01

Trump's dead cat has (predictably) become a martyr.

The fool. The utter dangerous orange fool.

Lweji · 05/01/2020 11:32

UK sycophants

"Speaking on Sky News, Raab said of Suleimani: “Let’s be very clear: he was a regional menace, and we understand the position that the Americans found themselves in, and they have a right to exercise self-defence. They have explained the basis on which that was done, and we are sympathetic to the situation they found themselves in.”"

Roussette · 05/01/2020 11:46

Raab's a wanker, excuse my language. And the only reason he is bleating on about the Iran crisis is because BoJo has been sunning himself in the Caribbean and CBA to come back.

I much prefer what Emily Thornberry (shadow foreign sec) has to say on this. Measured and knowledgeable.

Lweji · 05/01/2020 11:55

Yes. Sadly, the measured ones won't get a shot for another 4 (?) years.

I just hope that Iran's leadership proves to be the intelligent one. But it may not be enough.

Roussette · 05/01/2020 12:30

This. And this is where we are. Shock

: “Officials presented the president with options. The Pentagon tacked on the choice of targeting Suleimani mainly to make other options seem reasonable. They didn’t think he would take it. When Mr. Trump chose the option, military officials, flabbergasted, were alarmed.”

Lweji · 05/01/2020 12:35

If we are to believe that version, that should teach them.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/01/2020 12:44

seems the right time to be rejoining the threads.

PerkingFaintly · 05/01/2020 12:53

Have a Brew, OYBBK. And indeed everyone.

Much needed.

Roussette · 05/01/2020 12:56

Kitten Hello!

RhinoskinhaveI · 05/01/2020 12:59

This orange twit has the keys to the whole world 🤦🏼‍♀️

cozietoesie · 05/01/2020 13:01

I believe it, I fear, Lweji.

AcrossthePond55 · 05/01/2020 13:41

I never thought when I celebrated this being the election year that I'd be faced with that waste of space accelerating his insanity the way he has. I expected rhetoric. I expected lies. I did not expect a politically motivated assassination of one of another country's military leaders.

I admit to complete ignorance about the deceased General, but I'd never heard of his name being directly associated with any act of terrorism or known terror cell.

Scrotus has put a target on the backs of every single member of the US military, from the mightiest General in the Pentagon to the lowliest Private on a military base somewhere in the world.

Roussette · 05/01/2020 14:03

And it's started...

Hello OYBBK.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/01/2020 14:57

I have to admit I would find it funny if the Iranians hacked the voting computers in the places which have been particularly prone to voter-fraud of one sort or another in favour of the Republicans and gave the Democrats landslide victory in those counties.

A damn nuisance, and an excuse for Trump to go off on one big-time, but funny.

AcrossthePond55 · 05/01/2020 19:06

So, supposedly Iran has put a 'bounty' of $80M for Trump's head and is asking Iranians to pony up $1 each to fund it. I have a feeling they'll reach their target easily.

RhinoskinhaveI · 05/01/2020 19:14

I have a feeling they'll reach their target easily
it's not just Iran who wants him taken out, maybe trump just painted a big ole target on his own back?

This is footage of Suliemani's funeral. I have never seen so many people in one place. Millions. A helicopter moving and taking footage for one minute and still not capturing pictures of all the people there shouting 'Death to America'.

The Pentagon has released the footage of the drone attack on Suliemani. Is that wise? I'm not linking it. It's distasteful.

Trump has unleashed terror. Suliemani is now a martyr and Iranians expect his death to be avenged.
I wouldn't expect anyone staying in a Trump property to feel comfortable about that.

RhinoskinhaveI · 05/01/2020 19:47

This is footage of Suliemani's funeral
much bigger turn out than trumps sparsely populated inauguration eh

Suliemani is what trump aspires to, he wants to be the adored and revered strongman leader, he wants to command hoards who will do his bidding and vanquish his enemies.

RhinoskinhaveI · 05/01/2020 19:49

footage of the drone attack on Suliemani. Is that wise?
they are just begging for the counterpart footage to be released arent they....

TheNorthWestPawsage · 05/01/2020 20:47

God needs to have a word.

The evangelicals I'm talking to see the escalation of Iran as fulfillment of End Days prophecy, cementing their perception of Trump as a faulty messiah used by God. Many are bragging openly about their foresight in prepping, others are purchasing more weapons.
