It’s been 11 months for me and no sign! On one hand woohoo....on the other, is that normal?!

Quick check of mums I know and no one else’s disappeared for this long....

If breastfeeding it can be a while. For me it was around a year all 3 times.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 17/12/2019 20:53

Are you still breast feeding? I had a coil fitted today and when the doctor asked if I'd had one yet (5 months pp) I haven't, her next question was am I breast feeding, which I am, she said its totally normal for them to not return until after you've stopped... I thought that was an old wives tale.

StinkyXmasCheese · 17/12/2019 20:59

Totally normal - breastfeeding makes a huge difference!

I'm 13 months and counting...
still breastfeeding though.

Was around 6 months with eldest, I combi fed and was pretty much down to only 1 breastfeed at that age.

StinkyXmasCheese · 17/12/2019 21:01

My BFF says hers was 6 months, 17 months. 7 months and 12 months.
She breastfed all of them.

Ohyesiam · 17/12/2019 21:01

OrangeTwirlGate · 17/12/2019 21:03

IRememberSoIDo · 17/12/2019 21:03

Anyoed · 17/12/2019 21:03

I breasthink feed at night trying to stop he's about to turn 3 I've still not had one has anyone else been in the same boat

CastleCrasher · 17/12/2019 21:04

About 8 months each time, bf until 18 months but presumably weaning made the difference for them to return

LaurieMarlow · 17/12/2019 21:05

First baby 4 months, 2nd baby 11 months.

Both breastfed.

Zippetydoodahzippetyay · 17/12/2019 21:05

16 months for me after my first. 14 months after my second.

FoxFriend · 17/12/2019 21:06

Mine hasn’t returned yet, but I’m breastfeeding and it’s only been 3 months since I had her.

PerfectPretender · 17/12/2019 21:07

Normal for me. Longest I went was about 2.5 years!

ChrisPrattsFace · 17/12/2019 21:08

6 weeks here. Breastfed only for one week (booo!) and then bottle.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 17/12/2019 21:08

About 10m with DS (ebf). It came back when he wasn't feeding loads (about 4 times a day and almost never at night), and it spelled the beginning of the end for my milk supply. I had been led to believe by older relatives that the "norm" was for feeds to be reducing to only about 3 or 4 by 9m. I know now this was effectively a weaning approach in the days when the few people who did breastfeed usually switched to cows milk at 9 months. For me it was not enough feeding to maintain supply. My period returned and supply tanked rapidly.

thisusernameun · 17/12/2019 21:09

Breastfed baby (not exclusively infidelity by the end). 21 months. Wanted to ttc again so was getting very frustrated at the end

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 17/12/2019 21:09

And its nearly 4m now with DD (still on the boob constantly).

JeezyPeeps · 17/12/2019 21:09

Jealous of you all that breastfeed and had a long time without! I breastfeed and mine was back within three months, both times :(

Sofast · 17/12/2019 21:09

1st time after 6m second time after 12m, I breastfed until 12m both times

puds11 · 17/12/2019 21:10

8 weeks here. Exclusively breastfed (currently 5 months)

eatsleeplaugh · 17/12/2019 21:10

4 weeks after ☹️

puds11 · 17/12/2019 21:11

God I feel like I got the short straw! Was 6 weeks after my first and she was exclusively breastfed for 15 months

puds11 · 17/12/2019 21:11

@eatsleeplaugh were you breastfeeding?

Lantern19 · 17/12/2019 21:13

About 6 weeks? I couldn't breastfeed though

ManiacalLapwing · 17/12/2019 21:13

15 months, breastfeeding on demand around the clock.
