It’s been 11 months for me and no sign! On one hand woohoo....on the other, is that normal?!

Quick check of mums I know and no one else’s disappeared for this long....

A year and only happened when breast feeding slowed down.

Blingismything · 17/12/2019 21:15

Nine months with on demand breastfeeding

NickMarlow · 17/12/2019 21:15

8 weeks and 12 weeks. I breastfed both for a year...

Highlandmama · 17/12/2019 21:15

EBF baby, and it came back when he was 11 months. Coincided with him starting nursery but not sure if that was just a coincidence! I worried that it was such a long time - now I just wish it had been even longer!!

firawla · 17/12/2019 21:16

2 years 9 or 10 months with my youngest! Still breastfeeding which makes a huge impact on mine. Came back after a couple of months with my older ff children but with both my bf children it was a long time

Deepblueriver · 17/12/2019 21:17

It was 16 months for me. I am still breastfeeding and my supply hasn’t dropped.

OceanSunFish · 17/12/2019 21:18

The timing varied with my three DC, but it was always when I went down to two feeds a day.

Eminybob · 17/12/2019 21:19

Exactly 6 months with both of mine, even though I BFd DS1 for 9 months and DS2 13 months and counting Confused

Vinorosso74 · 17/12/2019 21:19

I think around 10 or 11 months then went nearly 3months before the next. Back to normal after that.

Cyw2018 · 17/12/2019 21:21

13 months.

Ebf then blw whilst still feeding on demand.

Could have done with periods staying away for longer at I have endometriosis, but 13 months without pain was lovely.

Bluebelltulip · 17/12/2019 21:21

4 weeks despite breast feeding, the range of normal is huge.

Greywalls12 · 17/12/2019 21:21

I had a period about a month after giving birth and nothing since, DS is 8months and I'm breastfeeding. Also started the pill around the same time as 1st period so that could be a factor!

Between 13-14 months. About a month after dropping to one feed a day and going back to work.

Pulpfiction1 · 17/12/2019 21:25

Dd just turn 1 and still no period. Still bf but no nightfeeds so expecting it to return soon.

lozengeoflove · 17/12/2019 21:26

Breastfeeding my third still. He’s nearly 13 months and still no period.

First baby - breastfed til 13 months. Period returned at 9 moths.

Second baby - breastfed til 16 months. Period returned at 8 months.

No idea why it’s different this time...

Thirder · 17/12/2019 21:27

Might be rubbish but with all other things being equal, I have heard it can be related to the nuitritiin of the mother.
Such as, starting any new supplement can trigger periods return or any additional reserves, including fat.
Makes sense to me, a bit like most girls need to be 45kg to get their first period, could also be rubbish Confused

holidayhelpp · 17/12/2019 21:28

Breastfeeding round the clock still, maybe that’s why then? Funny there’s such a range!

I was starting to worry, with my twins eve though I EBF it was 6 weeks, am 7 years on and I’m at 9 months with new BF baby and still waiting

Ineedcoffee2345 · 17/12/2019 21:31

6 weeks with first baby and 4 weeks 2nd baby. Both bottle fed

Juanbablo · 17/12/2019 21:31

2 months, 4 months and 10 months.

Pinkflipflop85 · 17/12/2019 21:31

Over 3 years for mine to return.

bluechameleon · 17/12/2019 21:31

22m, BF and still no sign. DS1 was FF and was about 3 or 4 months I think

eatsleeplaugh · 17/12/2019 21:33

@pud11 no I couldn't breastfeed. Tried but we were too ill. Traumatic birth, we both caught infections so were kept in for a couple of weeks.

Greymalkin12 · 17/12/2019 21:34

18 months and counting!
