Channel Four rip-off show tonight in which HBC praises her brave gramps who did stuff in WW2.

Any mention of your Great-Grandad, HBC? He was the effing Prime Minister responsible for Gallipoli and the Somme.

Wikipedia suggests he died in 1928, several decades before HBC’s birth. So I don’t think it’s case of ‘forgetting’ him so much as never getting to meet him in the first place. Wink

I’m so glad I’m not famous.

I’d have my abusive grandfather that battered both his wives, my paedophile (jailed for it) father and my illegitimate mother (absolutely shocking at the time of her birth over 70 years ago) brought up. Imagine what a shit life we’d all have if we were judged on the behaviour of others.

She is a really good actress and the roles she played were principled where she fought for her rights.When she played Lady Jane she refused a forced marriage and had to endure regular severe birchings on her bare bottom until she adhered to her parents wish so it shows she had her own mind, so I think she is a good person to host this programme

Presumably she was more interested in finding out more about the man she didn’t know as much about as opposed to a former PM about whom there are countless books to choose from.

I cant see she is responsible for what her Great-Grand-Father did?
Perhaps they didn't mention it as he was well known and the programme raison d etre is uncovering truths about unknown / lesser known rellies?
She strikes me as a wee bit precious, but I don't know her so who knows?

It's not about her GREAT granddad it's her GRANDDAD and what he did in the 2nd World War, helping Jewish people out of Germany.

Watch something else if you not interested or even turn the bloody tv off.

I’m curious as to why this affects you so deeply.

I am not responsible for the sins of my father, my grandfather, nor my great-grandfather ffs.

I refuse to be held accountable for their behaviour.
