Yes, I can see this point of view. Another point of view is that it was a few minutes of personal stuff in an hour of highlighting the people and the projects they were supporting. But I think royal overseas trips are even more of a waste of money than everything else they do, so a bit of personal gossip is a way of me getting a few pence of my money back.
