It's all I see in the shops, beautifully packaged and expensive sets. However having sampled them I am always left underwhelmed.

The bottles look like they've been made as cheaply as possible. They buckle the moment you've opened them.
The fragrances are so minor as to be virtually unnoticeable.
Same with the creams and body lotions.
They always seem all style and no substance.

Or am I being unreasonable?

As an aside they are among the most donated unused items our charity gets for raffles. So they do have a use Grin

@RiotAtTheRodeo

Faith in Nature liquid hand soap is lovely. Pretty cheap, gentle on your paws and the orange and grapefruit scented one is gorgeous.
I've just discovered this range. Their lavender and geranium bath wash is gorgeous. Smells like Neals Yard for a fraction of the price. I'll look out for the orange and grapefruit too.

They're alright. Plus they are making people frothy at mouth over soap, which is hilarious.

I think this is a good thread.

@MsFogi

I'm sorry but I judge anyone who has B&H in their house (Happy Shopper toiletries would look better Grin ). If someone gave me B&H as a gift, sadly it would be the end our our friendship. Grin

@ArblemarchTFruitbat

I couldn't give a fuck what people think of my toiletries. Anyone who has nothing better to think about than the relative cachet of different soap brands isn't a sufficiently interesting person for my tastes.

@Gilda152 Same!!! Can you imagine a person like this in real life?!

You know that poster (msfogi) is taking the piss/having a laugh right? Confused I can't believe you both think she's being serious!

True dat! A few people on here are taking this thread waaaaaaay to seriously. A chill pill is in order I think. Grin

I never joke @MyPatronusIsACat - I spend a lot of my time thinking "about the relative cachet of different soap brands". Happy Shopper being my anchor brand for all things since the 1980s. I am much worse in real life than I am on MN. Wink
For the avoidance of doubt - B&H is the Panda Cola of fizzy drinks, anyone buying/giving/receiving it will be judged....

No need to imagine Darling! In RL I'm just like Edina whenever she sees Saffy in Ab Fab.
I forgot to mention that I physically and mentally shudder when I see B&H in shops and houses.

Reminds me of the way Yankee Candles are marketed. They're really expensive and yet you can buy them in every single garden centre and in the gift shop at zoos. They look cheap, and there are fakes of them in every pound shop usually called "USA Candle" or something.

Every single one - whether it's a Christmas Cookie or a Walk on the Beach - smells like an air freshener in a pub toilet.

Whoever marketed them as high end is a genius.

I’m not sure if they’re marketed as high end as such but they’re seen by some as covetable.

I’m with you - if I’ve ever bought one or been given one as a gift I’m distinctly unimpressed by it. Sanctuary etc candles are better scent than these!

I don't mind cheap toiletries as a gift. At least I can use them. Unlike some of the cheap tat I used to be given. Over the years the time between receiving the cheap tat ornaments and suchlike, and it finding its way to the charity shop, reduced to a few days. Thankfully adult family members finally agreed a no gift policy in recent years.

YANBU - it’s cheap shit!
