Baylis & Harding is shit isn't it?

It's all I see in the shops, beautifully packaged and expensive sets. However having sampled them I am always left underwhelmed.

The bottles look like they've been made as cheaply as possible. They buckle the moment you've opened them.
The fragrances are so minor as to be virtually unnoticeable.
Same with the creams and body lotions.
They always seem all style and no substance.

Or am I being unreasonable?

As an aside they are among the most donated unused items our charity gets for raffles. So they do have a use

It what mil buys as it looks good. I til the shower gel to a hotel in case we ran out of the minuscule amounts they give out. It won’t lather, it was in a soft water area so it should lather. I chucked it. My mum insists on buying boots 3for2 every year. She told me not to buy her toiletries and I says ‘ditto and not rice as the smell Makes me heave. She replied ‘I’ve wrapped them now and can’t remember what one you have!’ So it’s ok for her to say no toiletries but dole them out. It was Doge so I put it in the food bank trolley.

I think the B&H Ginseng & Black Pepper hand soap smells divine and always keep some in the bathroom that guests use. So shoot me!

I agree and for the price (£2....even less if you're lucky) it's brilliant!

Nothing wrong with it but then i won't tell you something is wonderful just because it has the "right" name.

Agree. It's vile muck. I wouldn't even regift it if someone ever gave it t me. There's no-one I dislike enough to give it to.

It's the gift version of those naff boring Christmas cards with a bauble or a candle on, that you save out of the variety pack for someone you don't like.

The real stuff makes me itch. But other brands do too not just b&h.

I got given some Bayliss harding ginger and lime handwash as a token gift one Xmas and it was absolutely lovely.

Can everyone please lay off Ferrero Rocher. They are VERY posh. They even have them at the ambassador’s reception, they are noted for their exquisite taste 💅….

Well going against the grain here. Their mandarin and grapefruit is one of my favourites and they are bloody cheap! I love 'em.

But then I'm not a brand snob.

They're OK. Massively overrated though. A weak 5 out of 10 IMO.

I love their Pepper and Ginseng handwash.
And the tea tree and Neroli is nice too.

Somebody gave my DC B&H bath salts? last Christmas. She was one very confused seven year old!
I think the B&H pack had been broken up and separate parts of it regifted to people!

Its pocket money presents.
My lads used to buy it for their nan's and great nan when they were old enough to have picked money but didnt have loads to spare. So for that reason I wont criticize it.
The grand parents always put on a show of being pleased and thanking them and they thought they had done something good. Which to be fair, they had.

I quite like the smell of the hand wash - if it's on offer in Tesco I buy them for the downstairs loo.

Not the most exciting thing as a gift but practical - I would use it.

Ooh I'd be grateful for any B & H for Christmas - it's a nice looking gift at a reasonable price point and I'd appreciate it just as much as Molten Brown, Molten Brown is just mid-range hotel fodder that's dear for what it is so it somehow jedi mind f*cks you into thinking you're having some kind of luxury hand washing experience.

People who spend their cash on MB are trying a teensy bit too hard in my opinion. Either that or they've been off for a day to an outlet village (Cheshire folk I'm looking at you)

I couldn't give a fuck what people think of my toiletries. Anyone who has nothing better to think about than the relative cachet of different soap brands isn't a sufficiently interesting person for my tastes.

I like it, reasonably priced and smells nice. I don't have the budget for Molton Brown or Jo Malone anymore - saving for my retirement!
