CoatZilla and the Barbour Boy- The Second Saga

Hey everyone!

Bloody hell, in all my years of MNing I've never had a response like this, I was really helped by loads of your replies, and loads made me giggle (Roast Potatoes!!) and loads made good points.

I'm sorry I can't reply to specific posts but seriously there's so many.

Wine Brew Cake or Gin for everyone who replied and is sticking with me.

So on to the update.....

CoatZilla, henceforth to be known as CZ, text again last night....

Here it is word for word.
mate, your obviously upset and that was never my intention. I'm sorry that we argued, I honestly didn't see the conversation going that way when I brought it up. I think it's better we let the dust settle for tonight in honesty. Probably best to have a calm conversation tomorrow evening?

My reply....
Yeah tomorrow evening much better I think

And she didn't come back last night (good!)

So she's made a mistake anyway......cos Dad was actually out last night ! So we'll all be sitting there when she comes back.

My plan is, to write a list of bullet points for tonight of things she definitely said, so I can't forget and she can't back out of it or claim she didn't say it (I also remembered another bit in the fucking row- where she went "Oh, so a fucking ghost did it?" in that tone of voice- fucking horrible)

Also to sit calmly and let her explain to my lovely Dad and DP that she thinks they might have maliciously cut her coat.

Then see what she says!

TBH unless she fucking grovels on her knees (not likely after that fucking last text- minimization or what??) I'm going to be asking her to pack her stuff.

I'm not being "spurred on by hysterical posters"

I have read all the replies, some have opened my eyes, some have been excusing, some have told me not to rock the friendship boat....overall I have taken a middle(ish) ground.....but tbh it's clear she is
a) weird/horrible enough to think that of her oldest friend and her family
b) fucking vicious in a row
c) now backtracking massively

So....thoughts???

And again for the troll hunters in the back......my username currently is always "LanaKanesomething", and I've had various other names going back years.....so bloody well report me and see what MN has to say, yeah?

Buying Lunch by Allessandra Liverani

'I might go out for some lunch, ' was the thought in Bill's head
I'll ask if anyone wants a meat pattie on bread
Lucy in accounts asked if he'd kindly buy
A cheeseburger, large coke and small packet of fries

He strode up to the counter to order this meal
But was confronted with a question which made his head reel
'Do you have a senior citizen's card? ' the young girl asked
'No, I don't', he replied and looked at her askance

The manager, half grown herself, a problem she perceived
The customer of his embarrassment she wanted to relieve
So she stage whispered out loud and clear
'Don't ask them if they have a card, the poor dears

They don't like it if you ask them, even if their hair's grey
It's better not to ask, 'cos you'll only turn them away
They may look ancient, moth-eaten and fossilised
But don't ask 'cos you'll only see the hurt in their eyes'

Bill related this story to a friend of middling years
Which only served to give her an additional fear
If served by a young boy, she wouldn’t feel flattered
If the burger was 10% off, in fact she’d be shattered

Another thread where the OP disappeared was Caroline who accused OP of flirting with her husband and got all the other mums in the group on side to shut OP out. Was there ever a further update on that?

TinyPaws · 31/10/2019 14:35

@Pantalaimon88 Weren't there like 3 threads on that? The group sided with Caroline and OP was pushed out.

AryaStarkWolf · 31/10/2019 14:39

Yeah I think the OP decided to leave it where it was after a couple of posters started saying that she'd given too much info and that they could find caroline on FB or something? But basically all of the "friends" dumped her for caroline

Barbourella · 31/10/2019 15:14

I think you're all far too invested

Grin
JuliaCheeser · 31/10/2019 15:17

Grin So funny!

Winterdaysarehere · 31/10/2019 15:47

Barbourella it's a coat not a vest...

SchadenfiendeUnmortified · 31/10/2019 16:31

Vix and Jackie - You two are wasted here!

Brilliant verse.

AloneLonelyLoner · 31/10/2019 16:34

I just return intermittently,
For the poetry.

SchadenfiendeUnmortified · 31/10/2019 16:34

And your contribution, too Cheeser

SchadenfiendeUnmortified · 31/10/2019 16:34

I also come back for the poetry.

And the murder . . . Halloween Grin

OooErMissus · 31/10/2019 16:57

I guess that's the end of the LanaKane based usernames, OP!

If you're seen out and about on MN under one of those usernames, everyone's only going to want to know about the outcome to this drama. Wink

2girlsandagap · 31/10/2019 17:10

Mumsnet is full of unupdated threads I’m over invested in...
pregnant op who’s neighbors kept walking on her front garden- think her dad had a punch up with them but then she gave birth and never returned,
whatty and her garden woes,
bingate,
lunch club,
the one where the parents wanted the op to give her pregnant sister her wedding,
the inheritance return one,
Caroline and her fictional messages,
PTA raffle hair prize...I know that posters aren’t obligated to update us but I do like a resolution.

Jengnr · 31/10/2019 17:16

I’n sure PTA hair saga got updated.

SchadenfiendeUnmortified · 31/10/2019 17:30

think her dad had a punch up with them but then she gave birth and never returned

I remember that one - it was "Army Dad".

Some of the others ring bells, too - it would be lovely to have closure, but life is full of disappointments . . .

HuggedTrees · 31/10/2019 17:45

Sitting here

PennyBryn · 31/10/2019 17:51

Can someone start an unresolved thread thread.....like the classics but, well, a bit less resolved.......

itswinetime · 31/10/2019 17:56

There have been many what thread would you most like to know the outcome of threads they pop up at least once a month everyone comments the same threads get mentioned and no resolutions happen...they are as pointless as the not finished threads

mankyfourthtoe · 31/10/2019 18:16

You should get a minus score against you if you don't come back.

ImThatGirl · 31/10/2019 18:17

Wow just finished reading both threads. Pretty sure OP is probably dealing with friends return drama so hasn’t had time to reply here.

Reminds me of when I had random row with a uni roommate of mine years ago (over a chip in her favourite mug) & after lots of back and forth, with things turning very nasty, her sudden mood shift turned out to be based on someone at her work making a comment about her being a ‘freeloader’. This apparently hit a nerve and she took it out on us believing we all thought that too. The only resolution was for her to leave as she had said some pretty damaging things at that point!

Hoping this doesn’t go unresolved though - I really want to know how she’s going to justify suddenly turning on the OP&OP’s family seemingly out of the blue.

Kidlacky · 31/10/2019 18:57

why are you in the slightest bit bothered? i,m worried for the welfare of people when they dont give a shit about sea level rise , but if someone writes something on a computer, they go fucking mental. FUK EM. its just mums net. lolol.... seriously.

Kidlacky · 31/10/2019 19:00

i think i may have missed something maybe.

pemberlyshades · 31/10/2019 19:20

Ooh I really hope they've resolved it and are sharing a bottle and laughing about it and that she still moves out the cf

Densol999 · 31/10/2019 19:42

Looking back the continuous insistence that "I'll update thread " " I know what MN is like and I wont leave people wondering" was the bait to hook people in. This thread wont be updated now as the hook and catch was completed

kateandme · 31/10/2019 19:56

if shes been a poster for years surely she will be back on here soon.wont she see 10 billion adds to her post?
