Bloody hell, in all my years of MNing I've never had a response like this, I was really helped by loads of your replies, and loads made me giggle (Roast Potatoes!!) and loads made good points.

I'm sorry I can't reply to specific posts but seriously there's so many.

So on to the update.....

So she's made a mistake anyway......cos Dad was actually out last night ! So we'll all be sitting there when she comes back.

My plan is, to write a list of bullet points for tonight of things she definitely said, so I can't forget and she can't back out of it or claim she didn't say it (I also remembered another bit in the fucking row- where she went "Oh, so a fucking ghost did it?" in that tone of voice- fucking horrible)

Also to sit calmly and let her explain to my lovely Dad and DP that she thinks they might have maliciously cut her coat.

Then see what she says!

TBH unless she fucking grovels on her knees (not likely after that fucking last text- minimization or what??) I'm going to be asking her to pack her stuff.

I have read all the replies, some have opened my eyes, some have been excusing, some have told me not to rock the friendship boat....overall I have taken a middle(ish) ground.....but tbh it's clear she is
a) weird/horrible enough to think that of her oldest friend and her family
b) fucking vicious in a row
c) now backtracking massively

So....thoughts???

We're all typically left hanging now, and the OP seems to have loved the MN drama over last few days. I hate when I get sucked into these drama drama threads but I still do it even when I'm a bit suspect about the OP

What jessica said. Because the OP and her partner and dad are softies and lovely mug they'll continue to pay to house someone who has a good job and can support herself, eats out of the £30 they have feed themselves and a child and slags them to others. Friend will buy the house and then OP will post a thread wondering why she, such a close, dead friend, never contacts her, invites her out (she doesn't now) etc.

Also agree with @jessicafletc

It'll be all sorted and OP will be bracing herself for the ensuing outrage.
The friend lost her temper, screamed at OP and went out to rage to RL friends. OP came to rage on here. Talking about her friend behind her back in the same way her friend did to her.
OP is probably mortified at the horrible comments made about her friend, when we were getting one side of the story. It got out of hand and now has blown over.

Silly hurtful accusation for friend to have done ,made worse by the "I've spoken to all my friends about how it must have been deliberately done" .... Barbour sabotage in leafy town in England (?)... maybe a spy was planting a listening device or needed to retrieve the memory stick the Russians had been smuggling in via her coat. It's rather far fetched isn't it. ?.. I'd be laughing it off now and saying "possibly your friends meet the criteria for diagnosis of a paranoid disorder if it is true they've suggested that! It's also rather offensive. We're your friends and have always been supportive. Bizarre .why your even think that rather than the likelihood you snagged it on something when out. I’m voting for she’s forgiven friend (totally up to her, as long as OP is happy I don’t give a fig if she’s forgiven her or blown up at her and chucked her out) and doesn’t want to tell everyone

My goodness some of you are so impatient. This isn’t your weekly soap opera, it’s someone’s life. You accuse the OP of getting sucked in and yet you all do the same and think this is your moment to show how clever you are. Some of you should be very ashamed of the nasty accusations you’ve made and the comments you’ve left. because OP simply has not responded. It wouldn’t surprise those with common decency why the OP may not come back. Why should anyone put up with some of these posts?

If OP were a troll MN would have been removed the thread. It’s very easy to sit and make comments but you all need to remind yourselves there are real people involved and none of you truly know who they are and what they’re going through.

Whether OP comes back or not, many of you need to address your attitude, it’s unnecessarily unkind.
