Where to sit in a taxi

Just wondering where you sit in taxis when on your own.

If I sit in the back I feel a bit pretentious - drive me driver.

If I sit in the front I feel too close to driver for comfort.

Depends on the time of day. At night the back as they tend to be longer journies.

I always sit in the back, and when with DH - we both sit in the back

Quite often the driver opens the door for me/us - and it's always the back one they open

This has reminded me I used to live in Spain in the 90s. I got chatting to a nice cab driver once and we had a snog. God that was so long ago I’d forgotten 🙈

I think it's a presumption of familiarity to sit up front. Your place is in the back unless you know each other.

To sit up front & could send the wrong message to anyone dodgy I think. (having always worked in male dominated places I've always been amazed what socially inept men see as a 'come on' when in fact it's nothing of the sort). Always in the back by the door for ease of escape if any crash or other danger

always sit in the back regardless of time of day. don't care what driver thinks about it, they won't give a toss anyway, fare is a fare to them.
