The government is starting an advertising campaign next week telling us all to "Get Ready!".

What else can it mean?

By the way, it's costing £100m.

Stocked up on Grey Goose and shotgun shells (I know where the local remainers live )Grin

bellinisurge · 31/08/2019 20:11

Yep, no idea why it is irresponsible and stupid. Obvious why NOT taking care of your ois irresponsible and stupid.

glennamy · 31/08/2019 20:16

There is more than enough food etc for everybody, this has been stoked up by project fear of remain that lost. Pathetic snowflakes frightening people who are either not interested or have little knowledge on the subject, with no proof just chucking about soundbites. How the hell did we survive up to 1975 before joining the EU.

We are not leaving EUROPE we are leaving the eu which has become an out of control, law grabbing, un-elected, UN-AUDITED, money wasting monster!

funnelfanjo · 31/08/2019 20:18

Can I call HOUSE?

Juells · 31/08/2019 20:19

Yes, it's always stupid to prepare for a possible rainy day. It might never rain, then you'll be left with a stupid umbrella and raincoat you don't need.

funnelfanjo · 31/08/2019 20:20

What a thoughtful, well argued rationale @glennamy, thanks for posting that, I'm better informed now.

Parker231 · 31/08/2019 20:23

@glennamy - I’m assuming you don’t know that the UK doesn’t produce sufficient food to feed the population and we’re very reliant on imports from the UK. The JIT supply chain process is highly likely to be seriously affected by Brexit as reported by supermarkets, haulage businesses and the government.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 31/08/2019 20:27

Can I call HOUSE

You abso-fucking-lutely can!!

That post virtually has it all!!

Nearly47 · 31/08/2019 20:27

I think the campaign is more for the benefit of Europe. To let them know that UK is prepared to leave without a deal.

SistemaAddict · 31/08/2019 20:31

There's so much ignorance in that post from
glennamy that I don't know where to start. It would be funny if it wasn't so scary.

I've have no sympathy for the wilfully ignorant if the shit does hit the fan.

Alsohuman · 31/08/2019 20:31

I think it’s a cracking way of wasting money.

SistemaAddict · 31/08/2019 20:32

So it's wasting money to buy things that you need and will use?

Moo5ele55 · 31/08/2019 20:33

I think sticking your head in the sand is stupidity.

Sticking up in a few extra essentials you will undoubtably use up eventually whatever happens is prudent.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 31/08/2019 20:33

Yes berciw quite obviously bogroll is a complete waste of money

You should use leaves

Alsohuman · 31/08/2019 20:33

I meant the campaign. Just think what £100 million could achieve, spent sensibly.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 31/08/2019 20:34

Sorry bercow 😳

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 31/08/2019 20:34

Sorry also 😳

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 31/08/2019 20:35

Im not saying sorry again

Next time i balls up I’m not

Sorry about that

SistemaAddict · 31/08/2019 20:38
Grin

I agree the money could be better spent on things like, oh I don't know, making sure everyone is going to get the food and medication they need?

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 31/08/2019 20:41

Can I call HOUSE?

We hadn't had the un-audited thing and the snowflakes for a while! Grin

Teacher22 · 31/08/2019 20:41

What nonsense. The only thing that causes shortages is panic buying.

bellinisurge · 31/08/2019 20:43

Which is why most people on here haven't been panic buying.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 31/08/2019 20:44

No panic buying here by the sounds of it

People start Christmas shopping in june...how come thats not panic buying

timeaftertime79 · 31/08/2019 20:46

This will just cause shortages and more panic will ensue... or maybe that’s the point? Hmm

Rubyupbeat · 31/08/2019 20:50

Hysterical...just like Christmas. When the shops are only closed one day, somecareceven open...and you see folk in the supermarkets hoing nuts buying.
This is the same , I cant believe people are actually doing this.
