The thing is, I don't see a way that implementing the result of the vote could have been prolonged further, so it's not like it is the status quo being disturbed, the UK was in a state of democratic and constitutional limbo anyway.

It's not people who are expressing their concerns about this who are comparing the situation to the Cuban Missile Crisis - it's the people who are telling us there's nothing to worry about who are doing that.
