Amazon prime - who ibu?

My ‘d’bro (who has form for being a knob and I think is narcissistic) posted a ‘funny’ meme on the family WhatsApp group of a pile of amazon parcels with the caption ‘don’t drink and prime’
My ds countered with a link to a news story about amazon workers striking over bad working conditions www.theverge.com/2019/7/16/20696154/amazon-prime-day-2019-strike-warehouse-workers-inhumane-conditions-the-rate-productivity
Bro is offended, left the group straight away and SIL posted angry faces and said ds had upset him with his ‘disapproving’ response.
I think dbro is the unreasonable one (and an arse). AIBU?

Your DBro and SIL are a pair of babies for flouncing. Point that out to them, please.

PolkadotLollipop · 21/07/2019 13:22

Your brother made a stupid throwaway joke about online shopping whilst under the influence and tbh, I think your DS got a bit carried away on his moral high horse.

A mountain out of a molehill, all in all.

PolkadotLollipop · 21/07/2019 13:23

And yes, your brother & SIL were silly to flounce in reaction to your DS’ high handedness

REllenR · 21/07/2019 13:24

DS sounds like a bit of a holier than thou sort replying to a lighthearted pic with a link to that article. I'd have rolled my eyes and thought what an idiot and not risen to the bait though so DB overreacted

FelicityBeedle · 21/07/2019 13:24

Your son sounds up himself tbh. They are not good jobs for the amazon workers but you can still make a joke about the shopping website

Redglitter · 21/07/2019 13:25

Your Brother & SIL are being childish in leaving the group but really your sons post was un necessary & I think I'd have been pissed off with him.

Your DS was being a tedious virtue-signaller, and your brother has childishly overreacted.

There’s not much you can do about your brother being a twat, but might be a good opportunity to teach your son that there’s a time and place for moralising and this wasn’t it.

ColaFreezePop · 21/07/2019 13:27

Your brother is the adult here and should act like one - simply ignoring your DS would be enough.

PatchworkElmer · 21/07/2019 13:27

I think your son was being a bit silly- it’s not like your brother said “look at everything I’ve bought! Thank goodness Amazon treat their staff well!”

PolkadotLollipop · 21/07/2019 13:30

Cola, we’ve no idea how old the son is. They could both be adults.

Onceuponacheesecake · 21/07/2019 13:30

Your son sounds like a delight to be around Hmm and your DB & SIL sound dramatic.

PatchworkElmer · 21/07/2019 13:30

Tbh, I think everyone needs to grow up

JonSlow · 21/07/2019 13:32

How old is DS?

Pinkyponkcustard · 21/07/2019 13:33

You all sound like hard work

DaphneFanshaw · 21/07/2019 13:35

Your DS sounds like a pita, it does seem like your brother over reacted but it could just be that he has had enough of your DS being a sanctimonious bore.
Who knows.

CloudRusting · 21/07/2019 13:36

Unnecessary virtue signalling from DS. The joke was at your brother’s own expense not at Amazon workers in any way. Yes brother has overreacted but I think DS is primarily in the wrong here.

Zippyx · 21/07/2019 13:36

You're allowing the fact that you know your DB has form for being a prick to cloud your judgement.

DB posted a light-hearted, which DS decided to be sanctimonious and childish about.

Zippyx · 21/07/2019 13:37

*light-hearted joke

Heratnumber7 · 21/07/2019 13:37

Drinking and priming and the working conditions of Amazon employees are two separate issues.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 21/07/2019 13:38

Yeah sorry everyone sounds a bit ridiculous 2bh

GruciusMalfoy · 21/07/2019 13:39

DS sounds a bit po-faced. Bro sounds a bit daft for flouncing over it. I don't think either of them were reasonable.

isitwhatitis · 21/07/2019 13:39

I think your Dbro and SIL need to get a grip.

Soubriquet · 21/07/2019 13:42

Your ds sounds a bit holier than thou

The brother made a stupid comment. He didn’t need that shoved in his face

I would have flounced too tbh.

Purpletigers · 21/07/2019 13:42

Your son was being virtuous . Is he normal such a pain in the ass ? I do hope he doesn’t have any apple products !
