Enough to prompt a neighbour to call police?

What has THEIR domestic got to do with anything, we are not privy to particular details.

IcedPurple · 23/06/2019 20:46

Surely that's not how it happens, though? They don't write on their front page 'we want to interview Boris Johnson's neighbour and are willing to pay £10K!' Rather, they get in touch with the couple privately and organise something?

Yes, I agree. That's why I asked the pp how she knew about all of these 'rags' supposedly offering wads of cash for interviews. And surely if they were after cash, they would not have contacted a paper that does not pay for stories but would have gone to one of these chequebook wielding 'rags' first?

You'd have to be pretty blinkered to see that they didn't have some personal stake in this. They're part of the left-wing London art scene, this is going to raise their profiles considerably, they might give interviews, they might hire a PR consultant and make a go of it.

They may have some political motivations. But pps have said they got paid for 'selling' their story. This is quite simply not true.

It's complicated. One way or another, they're heading for a payday.

Walkaround · 23/06/2019 21:01

It really isn't complicated. Boris Johnson and his girlfriend had an argument vicious enough to alarm several neighbours. It is in the public interest.

Then let's hear the recording. Would you trust the Telegraph to filter a recording of Corbyn, or would you want to hear it for yourself?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/06/2019 21:03

Why do posters keep insisting that the Guardian don't pay for stories? I posted this direct quote from their Editorial Code on another thread, but here it is again in all its meaningless glory:

"Payment: In general, the Guardian does not pay for stories, except from bona fide freelance sources. The editor or his deputies must approve rare exceptions"

Walkaround · 23/06/2019 21:06

Yes, I'd love to hear the recording. I'd love to hear Boris Johnson demanding we all hear it...

LJdorothy · 23/06/2019 21:13

It isn't fake news. Stop being so Trumpian and accept that it happened. And whether you think the neighbours should have got in touch with the Guardian or you don't, it doesn't change the fact that there was a fracas in that house, loud enough to be heard by others. That's the truth, whatever dirt the Torygraph tries to throw at the neighbours.

IsabellaLinton · 23/06/2019 21:32

I don’t give a damn. It has nothing to do with his ability to do the job (or not).

Theoldwrinkley · 23/06/2019 21:39

I think questions should be asked about the motivation of the neighbour who called the police. Surely even politicians can have a private life? How would you like it if a domestic dispute was being recorded by neighbours ‘just in case’? I like Boris, and I’m getting a bit tired of all the sniping and jibing against him.

Triglesoffy · 23/06/2019 21:39

Yes it does. It means that he cannot control himself when provoked, he won’t admit the truth and he fudges every difficult question. The man is a right jeremyhunt.

Triglesoffy · 23/06/2019 21:41

How come Boris can abuse his girlfriend but Cherie Blair gets the sh”t kicked out of her because she asked her friend’s boyfriend to act as the administrator for her to buy a house?

Jeeperscreepers69 · 23/06/2019 21:41

Hes human. We all have tiffs. Police a bit much but neighbours prob loved 999 init

Zipee · 23/06/2019 21:44

Its not fake news, the man is a public figure running for Prime Minister.

Public have a right to know.

Iggly · 23/06/2019 21:44

Tired of all the sniping at Boris??

He shouldn’t make himself such a target by being so awful then, should he.

Iggly · 23/06/2019 21:45

I don’t give a damn. It has nothing to do with his ability to do the job

Well there’s plenty of other evidence that he’s incapable 🤷🏻‍♀️

Zipee · 23/06/2019 21:49

He isn't able to do the job, even with a whole team managing him in the most important week of his life so far he still can't hold it together.

Cinammoncake · 23/06/2019 21:52

How would you like it if a domestic dispute was being recorded by neighbours ‘just in case’?

My neighbours wouldn't be able to record it because I don't scream, shout or smash things up. If I did do those things and I was frontrunner to be PM I would think I was exceptionally stupid and that it was fair game.

TruthOnTrial · 23/06/2019 21:53

tiffs !! Hmm

DioneTheDiabolist · 23/06/2019 21:55

He's a cocklodger, unable to control himself in his girlfriend's house and without the intelligence and self control to not have police involvement in his life while he tries to become our PM. This to me indicates his lack of ability to be a responsible grown up. Nevermind leader of our nation.

Pray tell IsabellaLinton, in your opinion, what has he done that shows he has the ability to be PM?

SquishySquirmy · 23/06/2019 22:01

Ok.
So some people think that it is unfair to judge Boris Johnston's fitness to lead by the his carcrash of a private life.
Maybe, if that is the case, we should judge him by the way he conducts himself in public, the public statements he makes, and on his record so far in politics....

....oh, shit!

busyhonestchildcarer · 23/06/2019 22:02

So..he has four illegitamate children, has lied to a former P.M about having an affair, gave details to a friend who called him for an address of a person he wanted beaten up( which Boris said was okay as his friend didnt carry it out) and added to info which helped keep the British woman locked up in Iran and who is on hunger strike.Sounds a perfect future prime minister😂😂😂

DearLady · 23/06/2019 22:05

Boris is a cocklodger 😂 Love it.

busyhonestchildcarer · 23/06/2019 22:07

To those excusing Boris remember a persons principles ,integrity honesty are fairly crucial in a prime minister as is his ability to have self control. After all he cannot throw his toys out of his pram in parliament
