Enough to prompt a neighbour to call police?

if it was worse and she reports him to the police then I would hope that would be the end of his dreams of becoming PM

The poor woman will come under massive pressure not to report. She'll be forced to stand beside him looking adoring and will probably discreetly disappear a few months after he's taken office, probably when he's found a more submissive candidate..

carla1983 · 21/06/2019 20:41

Isn't she 25 years younger than him?

What does a 31 year old woman see in Boris Johnson who's in his mid 50s?

SusieOwl4 · 21/06/2019 20:41

there are an awful lot of assumptions being made here that are not actually in the report.

croprotationinthe13thcentury · 21/06/2019 20:42

If she is stupid enough to hook up with him there is no way she will have the sense to report him.

imgoingtogetyoulittlefishes · 21/06/2019 20:44

What does a 31 year old woman see in Boris Johnson who's in his mid 50s?

What does a 49 year old woman see in a 73 year old Donald Trump?

newmomof1 · 21/06/2019 20:46

Still a better option than Hunt...

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/06/2019 20:47

I’m not surprised. I do like Boris, in small measures, not as PM though. I’m sure he has a temper.

Isatis · 21/06/2019 20:47

Still a better option than Hunt...

I don't think that's going to make anyone feel better about Johnson, to be honest.

FinnBalorsAbs · 21/06/2019 20:48

Still a better option than Hunt...

At this point it’s like choosing your favourite venereal disease...

BertrandRussell · 21/06/2019 20:49

“. I do like Boris,”

For the love of all that’s holy - why????

IrenetheQuaint · 21/06/2019 20:50

He's not a better option than Hunt. Hunt is ghastly, but at least he has a few remaining vestiges of professionalism. Boris is an unprincipled loose cannon.

The Foreign Office staff (a couple of whom I know) absolutely loathed Boris. Hunt is seen as a significant improvement.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/06/2019 20:50

I’m sure he is very charming and flattering when he wants something/someone.

TanMateix · 21/06/2019 20:53

We are breeding our own Trump... it is time to accept that the vast majority of the country find his behaviour acceptable and endearing.

These years will go in history as the era when the country was governed by ignorance, prejudice and the glorification of disrespect.

Peregrina · 21/06/2019 20:54

What do they see in men like that? ££££££ or $$$$$$$ as the case may be.

Ravenclawclassof84 · 21/06/2019 20:54

He's a complete cunt, just like Trump. Of course the fuckwit Tories who think the sun shines from his arse will excuse it. They'll say it's part of his charm and charisma. Good old Boris.

LucilleBluth · 21/06/2019 20:54

Why was the neighbor recording the argument. Something doesn't seem right about this.

MrsOnions · 21/06/2019 20:54

I’m not fucking ok with any of it.

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 20:54

"no cause for police action.”

is what happens in most domestics

Isn't a posh version of a Jeremy Vine guest, rather embarassing to have as PM ?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/06/2019 20:56

Well I suppose theyre allowed to have an argument. I'm not going to pretend me and dp have a fairytale romance and never have a cross word. However its the screaming and the "get off me" that is concerning me. What the hell was going on there.

Aren't we all going to sleep soundly in our beds at night with Bo Jo running the gaff. Hmm

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 20:57

"Why was the neighbor recording the argument"

Probably a MNer ! it's always being advised here to record when you hear DV next door

carla1983 · 21/06/2019 20:58

I don't think we can really compare Boris to Trump - he isn't on the same scale.

I haven't heard Boris endorsing pussy grabbing as an acceptable way to flirt yet. If he did I'm pretty sure his career would be over.

I also haven't heard him saying stuff like 'there good people on both sides' when describing far right fascists & the people who protest against them.

Trump is just awful and a guaranteed narcissist. Boris I'm sure is a prat but not on the same scale.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 21/06/2019 20:58

I don’t doubt she will be under pressure to not report if there was an incident involving violence

This isn’t going to dent him unless it goes further

We shall start reading reports of a smear campaign soon - that will totally play into his hands

VladmirsPoutine · 21/06/2019 20:59

I'm curious and rather unsettled that the police denied any knowledge until provided with a reference/case number. JFC! Could it be that it wasn't reported as a 'domestic incident' so more of a technicality issue or is it as sinister as I'm imagining?

That said, this is just example number 3456465893565 why Boris is not suited to high office. Not that it will throw his ascent to PM off track, mind.

KennDodd · 21/06/2019 20:59

It's not up to us. It's up to Tory party members, they will be fine with this. I very much doubt that even I'd he had beaten her up and been prosecuted they would still vote him into office. These are he same people who think Brexit is worth the break up of the UK and serious damage to the economy. I can't believe they would care in the slightest about a women being abused.

TanMateix · 21/06/2019 21:00

Well, probably she thought it could be evidence for a crime? Glad that she recorded it, I can’y believe that even the police was ready to cover for him and declare no such report existed.

I also think that was wise to record it, otherwise she would have portrayed as some one tryingbto give Johnson bad advertising rather than a person concerned for the safety of a neighbour
