Yes, I'm talking about you, deadpersonalhouseelf. I haven't even bought the book yet an already I know (partly) what happens.

Sorry, I know this isn't meant to be funny.

But it is .

Dahlia · 22/07/2007 23:11

Its a tad selfish - I would be irritated too if I hadn't read the book...

Piffle · 22/07/2007 23:13

anyone who truly cared would not have turned on their pc/bought a paper/heard the news

Seriosuly
it's not REAL

LoonyLyraLovegood · 22/07/2007 23:14

It's not funny Expat. Alright, maybe just a little bit.

Did she not realise what she was doing? How stupid.

You gotta admit, it's a pretty funny nickname.

LoonyLyraLovegood · 22/07/2007 23:18

I work in news and was at work all day yesterday and learned nothing of the plot. then I'm reading a thread about sandwich fillings on MN and discover something I didn't want to know. Gah!

Bloody hell, people put spoilers for TV programs on here all the time.

I really don't get all this fuss about a book which, if the few paragraphs I read of the first one are anything to go by, will be crap.

LoonyLyraLovegood · 22/07/2007 23:24

Usually they put spoilers in a thread marked SPOILERS, not in their nickname. there was no chance of avoiding that one.

OP posts:
SaintGeorge · 22/07/2007 23:26

It might not even be an accurate nickname, as far as the book goes.

Here, have a toke on this spliff and relaaaaaaaaaax

edam · 22/07/2007 23:27

LLLL, there are TWO personal house elves who play key roles in the story.

HTH

FlameDelacour · 22/07/2007 23:28

Tbh, I get pissed off about tv spoilers too.

Its one of those things that really irrationally upsets me (very rarely come to blows with Psychomum... and one of the 3 times we can remember is when she told me about CSI!)

saggermakersknockturnalley · 22/07/2007 23:30

One of ds1's mates has changed his MSN name/message thingy to include a spoiler. Dd logged into the laptop and couldn't blimmin miss it I think it's a bit mean TBH. Why spoil it for other people?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/07/2007 23:34

at personal house elf.

Sounds like a very bad porn plotline, no?

FlameDelacour · 22/07/2007 23:35

WHY?!!?

I don't understand the pleasure people get out of spoiling (Like Cali's guy on a train with a t-shirt saying the outcome of the last book).

Its like those sad gits who buy new games consoles to smash them up in front of the people waiting.

LoonyLyraLovegood · 22/07/2007 23:36

Maybe they assume EVERY HP fan had the book at midnight on launch day and stayed up all night reading it. I'd much rather buy it when i get the chance and the not have to read it in one go. I do have children to look after and I'm a slow reader.
So Edam, I may not know what I think I know? that helps.

Enid · 22/07/2007 23:36

we call dd3 dobby the house elf

LoonyLyraLovegood · 22/07/2007 23:37

Do people really do that, flamedelacour?

OP posts:
FlameDelacour · 22/07/2007 23:40

The consoles?

Yup, there is normally a site set up specifically for it, other equally sad gits donate money to fund the console, and then the smashing and faces are filmed and put on the site.

I just don't understand - I have no interest in big brother, don't get why people watch it, but there isn't the teeniest bit in me that wants to ruin it for those that do.

LoonyLyraLovegood · 22/07/2007 23:42

There are some really mean people out there.

OP posts:
FlameDelacour · 22/07/2007 23:43

wii

TheDuchessOfFawkesBride · 22/07/2007 23:44

Spoilers without warnings are mean.

Although it is rather amusing that those who do this because they disagree with adults reading childrens literature, get so cross about it that they want to ruin others enjoyment. No doubt they probably stamp their little feet and push their bottom lips out while they're doing it...

LoonyLyraLovegood · 22/07/2007 23:48

Grrr, I waited ages for a Wii, I could have had that smashed one.

OP posts:
edam · 22/07/2007 23:50

Glad to have been of service, LLL! House elves play an important role in the book...
