You might like to bear in mind, folks, that someone or other (not a MNer, some 'expert or other') did actually suggest that alcohol should be prohibited to women of CHILD-BEARING AGE. Not pregnant women. Not TTC women. But all women of childbearing age. Because, by this fuckhead's definition, women aren't human beings. THey are baby containers, no matter if they've had a hysterectomy or taken a vow of celibacy.

Just think about that the next time you feel like telling a pregnant woman what to do when she didn't ask for your input.

i guess given today's activities, this thread was almost inevitable.

if the question is real: if she's still only at the suspecting stage, chances are she won't be able to do much harm yet.

perhaps the more contructive course of action would be to see if you can talk to her (when she's not high) and see if she needs any help coping (doing coke at such a time a very bad sign) and explain the (extra) dangers of what she's doing, although it's unlikely she doesn't know.

I imagine someone who uses cocaine when they know they might be pregnant is more likely to be someone who didn't want to be pregnant, but yet also wasn't as organised as they could have been about preventing pregnancy, either.

I have uncomfortable personal experience... A relative was using crystal methamphatamine when she fell PG, and last used it when 6 months pregnant. They were absolutely against abortion, but never bothered to use contraception, either.

Hard to tell how much their child was damaged by the drugs.

lljkk- I know a girl ( well she is a woman really now) who took a mixture of drugs throughout her pregnancy ( esctacy, speed, coke, MDMA)- she had a daughter who was born with limb deformities ( this was about 15 yrs ago)
