Also, having children is a 'privilege'???? It's a random natural phenomenon that happens sometimes when you have sex without using contraception. It is not yet up to the government or anyone else to decide who is or is not allowed to breed.

Chocpeanut - a lot of people take cocaine on a social basis. Weekend use. I know teachers and nurses who do, amongst others. It's not a big deal really. Never done it myself as it just doesn't appeal, and friends who used to do it no longer do now that they are mothers. However do not underestimate how pervasive it is.

Yurtgirl: people take recreational drugs because they find it enjoyable to do so. Some give you extra energy and confidence, some make you feel relaxed and benevolent, some make you see pink happy flying toadstools. Of course, some also make you puke like mad, give you the runs, make you see malevolent demons sitting on your feet, send you to sleep etc. Though the intention is to have a pleasant experience, having an unpleasant experience may occur instead depending on whether you bought uncontaminated drugs, whether you ate/didn't eat before ingesting what you bought, whether you were in deep pyschological distress before ingesting the substance. Expat and others: so do you all produce all your own food then? Are you sure that no slave labour was involved in putting sugar in your tea or dinner on your table? How about your cars? How many people have died in battles over oil producing territory? Obviously one could go on forever along these lines, but I've yet to hear an argument against recreational drug use - as oppsed to the problems caused by the prohibitons on recreationla drug use - by consenting adults that's actually valid.
