Hello everyone, here's thread 2.

I'd be very grateful if someone could do a clicky link to the last one. Still can't figure it out.

Thanks!

I really believe that both couples just fell in love and got married without any weird social climbing as their main agenda. But then I would hate for any of my children to marry into the RF.

The cynic in me looks at the match between Harry and Meghan and thinks that without the 'Prince' part, she wouldn't have married him.

37 year old American actress marries a posh English 33 year old man. Don't see it somehow. Throw in the Prince title and it's all a bit different.

I see her more suited to a director, designer, artist, producer, actor etc etc.

Like I said though, I'm just being cynical.

I think that eye roll video of Meghan and Harry is telling. She’s complex and savvy and he’s like a happy little sheepdog with a title and a penchant for mischief.

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2019 11:34

If I were the type to prioritise my children marrying well over being successful themselves - well I would go for a nice billionaire rather than a Prince. Who would want all the criticism? And I know their life is privileged but I wouldn't want it.

MagicKingdomDizzy · 30/04/2019 11:38

3 years is such a short time to be seeing someone, before marrying and having children. Especially if it's a more long distance relationship, and long gaps between seeing eachother.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's finding the honeymoon glow has faded. But after marriage and a baby it's a bit late.

Yes I think Cressida said she was trying to pay her own way in life, even though her family do have money, and found all the trips abroad etc expensive on her salary. That was what was reported anyway.

Yes Pippa was reported to have hung out with people who have castles at university. She is friends with one of the Percys, who is future Duke of Northumberland I think.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/04/2019 11:38

@DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops I have utmost confidence in your judgment and gong spotting skills. (I have none, by the way, gongs or skills in recognising them). Go forth and report back anything of interest!Smile

That wouldn't be a relative of Henry Percy, who was Anne Boleyn's first husband?? Shock I believe he was Duke of Northumberland.

@magickingdomdizzy he looks lately as though the wind has been knocked out of his sail and like a deer in the headlights almost. They had amazing chemistry in the early days. I do feel from the outside as though she is the sort of character that is beguiling, charismatic and pulls you in when she wants to but you’re either ‘in’ or ‘out’ and desperate to be on her good side, a bit of a queen bee character. These are just my outside observations though. I’ve always wondered how women like that are able to be so enchanting to both men and female friends.

MissParple · 30/04/2019 11:48

well I would go for a nice billionaire rather than a Prince.

I'm a woman of modest tastes and would rather a humble little millionaire. I can't imagine those billionaire types make for the most faithful of partners.

Humpy84 · 30/04/2019 11:54

In another life, I would go an English country guy that wore those cream pants and brown leather boots and had a Georgian house in the Bath countryside and maybe a London pad. Net worth circa 10 million would do nicely. Have given this a lot of thought. Would also like title and family tiara.

Was just reading back about Diana’s voice and it was really magical, especially the way she worded things, it was so old school 😍❤️

Daisypie · 30/04/2019 11:55

What is the eyeroll video

MarkleSparkle · 30/04/2019 11:56

Possibly, though Wikipedia says he was Earl of Northumberland and Pippa’s friend will be a Duke. Unless they got upgraded at some point? I can’t find a full family tree but I’m sure someone will know. There have been various ones in with royal courts. I think they were useful because they owned so much land near the border with Scotland, so good for defence.

Humpy84 · 30/04/2019 11:56

Staff, can’t believe I forgot most important part.

MarkleSparkle · 30/04/2019 11:58

Sorry my post was to Magic.

If I was going billionaire I’d go Bill Gates/Mark Zuckerberg. Not for the extreme wealth but because they seem quite sweet in a way.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/04/2019 12:03

Goodness, you people are GOOD! How do you find this stuff?

The eye roll thing, is it Meghan giving a WTF!! look after their interchange?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/04/2019 12:05

My DH does something similar, goes off muttering to himself. Thing is, he's a bit deaf these days so I can hear what he's saying.Grin

Humpy84 · 30/04/2019 12:12

I thought she was exhasperated or maybe annoyed by whatever she was explaining because it was trivial.

@myimaginarycathasfleas bless his grumpy heart, he can no longer get things past you 😆

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2019 12:13

True fact about fidelity and billionaires - I need to give this more thought Wink

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/04/2019 12:18

Never could, @Humpy84 😆

Daisypie · 30/04/2019 12:20

Thank you. Harry better shape up.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/04/2019 12:22

Magic it's the short time / long distance thing prior to marriage that's concerned me from the start. Throw in two utterly dysfunctional families and a total difference in background and experience, and it all risks an outcome I very much hope I'll be wrong about

And before anyone starts frothing and hitting the report button, that's an observation I'd make about anyone in a similar situation ... it's just that being in the public eye means it gets said more often, by more folk
