To think the UK media silence on the Prince William rumours is odd

Just that really. No idea if there's anything more than rumour and speculation, but it's all over social media that Prince William allegedly had an affair with one of Kate's friends, but there is a total media silence on it.
Pretty bizarre considering that Meghan Markle barely has to breathe and the media are covering it.

But if it were true I’d put money on Carole saying to Kate - you don’t have to put up with that nonsense, come home with the kids

She can't do that. George will be King one day. If Kate is unhappy, she'll probably wait till the children are in their teens and virtually independent, before striking off on her own.

ByeClaire · 27/04/2019 13:54

Yep iamnotagoddess that makes a kind of sense

WillGymForPizza · 27/04/2019 13:55

I wonder if maybe one of them has the 'Royal disease' haemophilia Bazzill? Queen Victoria carried the gene and passed it all over Europe when she married her kids off. Also one of her sons had it and died young.

But then that's not the death sentence it was years ago so maybe not? Still not a nice thing to have though.

Iamnotagoddess · 27/04/2019 13:56

@ByeClaire

In the comments someone suggests that Will and Kate did it on purpose to “test” if Meghan would blab to the press and there was no affair - or Kate blabbed knowing it would be blamed on MM - who knows 🤷‍♀️Grin

KittyLane1 · 27/04/2019 14:00

I think Harry is pissed off because he was very young when Diana died and probably still, like a lot of people, romanticizes the past and still thinks of Diana as the sad, lonely, beautiful princess who yearned for her prince.

Is Harry's mind cheating is probably a great offence and something he would never do, plus he clearly adores his SIL and wouldn't want her hurt.

I think Will and Meghan don't get along, there was a video clip of her trying to make polite conversation and Will turning the other way.

Having met Carole a few times I get the feeling she would punch Will right in his smug face .

Pengrin · 27/04/2019 14:03

She just needs to stay put now and smile and wave

Or have her own fun like Diana did.
Hire a hunky assistant, buy herself an island and fill it with shoes or ponies of whatever tickles her fancy.

IcedPurple · 27/04/2019 14:05

Chelsy Davy might have something to say about that.

KittyLane1 · 27/04/2019 14:05

Part of me hope's Meghan did leak the news, and since the media has largely ignored it it goes to show that when they want to, the RF can control what is written about them, meaning they could if the wanted to stop the relentless shit written about Meghan but they don't.

KittyLane1 · 27/04/2019 14:06

Icedpurple

Oh really? I didn't know that. Maybe it's different when you are married? Or now that he is older?

IcedPurple · 27/04/2019 14:07

It's know that Will used to 'test' his hangers-on at St. Andrews and Eton by planting false stories and waiting to see if they later appeared in the press. If they did, he would instantly freeze out whichever of his 'friends' was the guilty party.

However, I don't this this is true here. Rumours of an affair, with a named 3rd party, are simply too serious and potentially damaging for this sort of 'test'. I could believe it with a more minor story, but not with something like this.

EdWinchester · 27/04/2019 14:08

Isn't this pretty much what Prince Charles did?

Marry someone suitable, without a past, good for breeding and quite possibly as dull as ditchwater - then fool around.

I think it's part of life in these circles.

Diana was no match for Charles intellectually and I don't think she was enough for him. Kate will put up with anything because she is exactly where she wants to be.

IcedPurple · 27/04/2019 14:09

Harry's been married less than a year, to a woman he's only known for 3 years. They're still in the honeymoon period. Give it 10 years or so and let's see if Harry's still so principled about marital infidelity.

chaosisaladder · 27/04/2019 14:09

I don’t actually think Carole would be that angry, or Kate for that matter.

Not to say that she wouldn’t be upset, because of course anyone would be, but these are two very resilient women who have played a long game. He’s married to Kate and they’ve got three kids, one of which is heir to the throne. Carole used to be an air hostess and now her grandchildren are royalty. Angry? Please. Disappointed at the weakness of men perhaps, but aren’t we all.

lyralalala · 27/04/2019 14:11

@happyhillock I know the press weren't allowed into the estate after the gates closed, but for her to be in with her father they'd have had to get her coffin from Althrop to Great Brington and into the church without being seen. Which wouldn't have been an easy task given the weight of her coffin and the press surrounding the estate and the villages.

I know there was a lot of talk about it because of the stones being lifed in the Spencer crypt, but I think that's because it was such a late change of mind. There's no way the Spencers, the Princes and the coffin could have gotten into the church without being seen I don't think. Not with the media intensity there was at the time.

I think she's buried somewhere at Althrop, just not where they said it would be to stop it becoming too much of a shrine.

Whoops75 · 27/04/2019 14:13

The Daly Mail must be bursting to write something, I’m delighted they are being kept under the thumb.

William & Kate,Harry & Meghan are an embarrassment, give the crown to Peter Philip’s Grin

DeadWife · 27/04/2019 14:13

Since when was Prince Charles an intellectual?

chaosisaladder · 27/04/2019 14:15

deadwife he spells realise, etc with a z (which we all consider to be the American way) because it’s actually an old English way of writing or something REALLY dull like that which basically makes him better than us common folk who spell the common way

justasking111 · 27/04/2019 14:16

There is nowt on Facebook is that censored??

diddl · 27/04/2019 14:16

If the blind gossip is anywhere near the mark though would Kate & Harry still be getting on OK?

Or was tha an act from them to be all smiles on an engagement together?

EdWinchester · 27/04/2019 14:18

Prince Charles is an intellectual. He might not have shone academically, but he is bookish and well-informed and enjoys the pursuit of knowledge.

One of my friends has dealings with him through work and always says how much of a savant he is.

EdWinchester · 27/04/2019 14:20

It's Althorp, not Althrop.

IcedPurple · 27/04/2019 14:24

Since when was Prince Charles an intellectual?

Lol! I guess everything is relative, and the royals have never been known for their brains. Prince Harry allegedly needed 'assistance' to barely scrape 2 A levels.

lyralalala · 27/04/2019 14:30

Althrop/Althorp is an autocorrect I missed. Althrop is my DD's consultant rather than an English estate!

TheBulb · 27/04/2019 14:30

Prince Charles has a Desmond, for heaven’s sake, and he didn’t get into Cambridge on the back of a B and a C at A-level.

He’s about as much of an intellectual as I am a prop forward for the All Blacks.

Pengrin · 27/04/2019 14:30

Prince Charles is an intellectual

How could you possibly know that? Grin

Kate loves tomatoes. My sister’s dog’s best friend’s cousin met her once so it is an absolute fact.
