To think the UK media silence on the Prince William rumours is odd

Just that really. No idea if there's anything more than rumour and speculation, but it's all over social media that Prince William allegedly had an affair with one of Kate's friends, but there is a total media silence on it.
Pretty bizarre considering that Meghan Markle barely has to breathe and the media are covering it.

That's interesting about the island. I suppose they thought saying she was on the black swan gothic island would deter superfans from coming on pilgrimage.

Class is such a weird thing isn't it? And money can't buy it either. You can be very, very, wealthy but still be looked down upon by the old aristocratic families. For example the Ecclestone's and The Greens, fantastically wealthy. Probably far more wealthy than any of the old Earls, Dukes, Lords etc, but still very common, and dare I say a bit chavvy/tacky? Then you have the Middletons who would seem very posh to most people, sent their children to the top public schools, live in a country's pile in a very naice area etc, but they are also not posh enough for the aristos...

And then I hear that some arisots even look down the RF because they are descended from German immigrants?!

Anne was in a relationship with Andrew Parker Bowles in the early seventies.

However, it was very clear to both Anne and Andrew Parker Bowles that they were not allowed to marry as APB was a Roman Catholic. Marrying an RC meant automatic disqualification from the line of succession. This law changed only changed a few years ago in 2013.

Why would Carole be upset, she got what she wanted she must have known what conditions could potentially be attached to it and yes that would include mistresses, Kate is the same

As much as we all like to th8nk of it as some great love affair and different to what came before it was just as much arranged she was a suitable candidate. He will I suspect never leave because he does love her. He clearly both envies his brother the freedom he has but also relishes the status being a future king brings

As for Rose one suspects her husband was complicit in pushing it forward. Like it or not open marriage is far more prevalent in the wealthy upper echelons of society than it is with us mere mortals.

I think it is more likely that Harry is pissed with William because the latter told Harry not to marry Meghan or to think about it.

I agree re Carol Middleton. I think she'd just tell Kate she has to put up with it because that's what Aristo's do. She was desperate to get her daughters into those circles, so I would think she'd want them to behave like them rather than make a fuss. Kate has done her job in spades by producing 3 healthy heirs. She just needs to stay put now and smile and wave Sad

@lyralalala i agree with your MIL she's not on the island don't know about her being where your MIL think's, remember the press weren't alowed into Althorp once her car went through the gates, so who know's what happened, if she was on the island they would have had to build something for people to get across the water, did the family and undertaker's wear wellies? I still say she's beside her father that's supposingly what she wanted, how they did it nobody knows

Really? Both Kate and her family knew what she was signing up for when she married.... why would they suddenly change priorities?

Charles famously said "Well, I refuse to be the only Prince of Wales who never had a mistress". If the rumour is true, what's happened isn't an anomaly in royal circles, it's the norm. And both Kate and her family will have known that full well.

I have no idea whetger the rumour is true though, none of us do. But it certainly isn't impossible as some are suggesting... far from it. Aristos have more opportunity to cheat than us normals, not less. Having several houses and a good excuse for travelling between them a lot provides plenty of scope for people to get up to whatever they like. The security detail aren't going to leak it, or grass up Prince William to Catherine. They know what side their bread's buttered on.

I don’t think Harry’s pissed off about PW’s affair, I think it’s about much more and is more personal than that. Also, I don’t think it’s one-sided at all.

Some of my favourite rumours - as in they’re enjoyable and possibly ridiculous - are the ones about MM. Her bump, being on yachts etc. And yes her informing the press of PW’s affair. Her and Harry recently instructed a very lauded, high-ranking person with political experience to do their PR after separating estates and in response to the stuff about MM. It’s game on.

I can recall more than one thread on MN where posters have alluded to something "very sad" within the RF. Said posters are/ were married to staff, maybe protection or similar.
At the time I thought they meant someone senior was terminally ill but those threads go back quite a few years and no one's died in that time...

Didn't Wills allegedly cheat on Kate frequently before they were married? Yet Carole seemed quite enthusiastic about the wedding, to say the least.

Besides, the children are considered 'property' of the crown, so it's not like she could just put them in their car seats and drive back to Bucklebury.
