Eating my bowl of carby porridge in the rain and wondered this.

Help me feel better about my messy flat and share with me some un-mumsnetty thing you have done today?

I fed my boys a tin of beans for breakfast with shop bought bread (possibly a MN point for a cooked breakfast?)
I am only washing the shower curtain now as it was getting mouldy
I only got a shower just now
Eating a bowl of hot, carby porridge which is very nice.
My top floor flat is a mess and I don't care Smile

My 2 year old watched 1.5 hours of TV this morning so I could have a shower, wash my hair and tidy our house.

sparklyglitterball · 04/04/2019 11:08

Have given my middle dd free rein of the tablet and some Pom bears so I don't have to entertain her. My excuse is having been up half the night with the baby who is full of cold. Grin

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 04/04/2019 11:08

Had a tattoo Grin not on my face though Wink

fleshmarketclose · 04/04/2019 11:13

I'm stripping all beds and cleaning upstairs, that includes my teenage dd's room and my adult son's room. Yes they could do their own but I'm home and they aren't so I will do it for them.

unicornsandwine · 04/04/2019 11:15

Slept in ... gave DC cereal bars to eat in the car whilst I drove the 5 minute walk to school , environment ruined , but no late mark 🙌 in bed drinking coffee , feeing like death , think I probably should do something with my life ... maybe later Wink

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 04/04/2019 11:22

Sent DD (5) to school with only a yoghurt and some oat milk inside her. I’ve tried to get her to eat breakfast but she won’t. She consumed them while glued to YouTube on the iPad.

This evening, she’ll probably have chocolate buttons, followed by yoghurt, then milk and maybe a mini pizza, toast or a sandwich for supper. There’s no point in cooking her something warm and nutritious - she won’t be interested. She’ll eat her high-sugar, high-carb supper to the accompaniment of yet more YouTube.

Coffeeandcrumpets · 04/04/2019 11:28

Where to start!! Let my daughter (10) have an Easter egg for breakfast as she doesn't want cereal, toast, bagels, crumpets, cereal bar or fruit. (all of which we have in the house in an attempt at getting her to eat breakfast).

'got stressy' at my son (8) as he wouldn't brush his teeth.

'got stressy' at my daughter as she couldn't decide if she was hot or packed lunch today, till the moment we left.

Walked the dog 'off-lead'.

Now, come back to bed for a lay down.

Coffeeandcrumpets · 04/04/2019 11:30

O yes, and let my son play fortnite, even though he's only 8.

darkriver19886 · 04/04/2019 11:43

I am on to the third fizzy drink of the morning (cancer is going to kill me for sure)
Been up since 7 am and watched tv all morning.

BluishMoon · 04/04/2019 11:50

@catisbeingsick we have a winner!

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 04/04/2019 11:50

How could I forget Fortnite? When my DS wakes up I will let him play Fortnite all afternoon (there is actually a good reason for this lax parenting atm!)

My DD is also currently asleep as her "lecturer is off sick". I'm dubious as to whether this is true but ignoring it in a unMNetty lazy parenting style.

My cat slept in my bed too, on my pillow.

I'm just waiting for someone to come along and "not see the funny side" and be cats bum mouthed. I nearly did it myself about the unvaccinated DC tbh but ignored it (this is also very unMNetty to ignore such a blatant opportunity to leg it onto a high horse).

LadyRannaldini · 04/04/2019 12:09

Used a toilet brush.

It's either a loo brush or a Kaercher blaster in our house!

NunoGoncalves · 04/04/2019 12:11

Do mumsnetters not eat porridge?

Why are you eating it in the rain? It's going to get all watered down surely?

Alsohuman · 04/04/2019 12:16

Drank several glasses of red wine last night. Had a bath - hate showers.

adaline · 04/04/2019 12:18

Used a toilet brush.
Let the cats sit on the worktops.
Let the dog sleep in my bed.
Let the dog lick my face.
Drinking Diet Coke.

pansydansy · 04/04/2019 12:27

I got dressed an hour ago (and that's only because I had a doctors appointment) I didn't have a shower either because all the towels were in the washing machine 😬🤦🏻‍♀️ I did change my knickers though!

I haven't had breakfast (just chocolate and crisps) so I'm off to subway soon to get a foot long and do some housework and drink more tea! Cba

ssd · 04/04/2019 12:30

Am still not dressed

ssd · 04/04/2019 12:32

Am currently writing out a shopping list and if some stupid arse finds it in a trolley and starts a thread about it here I'll know there's people in the world with sadder lives than mine

adaline · 04/04/2019 12:33

Oh, and it's my day off and I'm sat on the sofa eating junk food and watching crap TV, not doing something productive!

Roomba · 04/04/2019 12:38

Packed DS1 a lunch of cheese sarnie on white bread, with an apple, crisps and kitkat. No houmous or quinoa in sight Wink

Sworn loudly in the presence of DS when he wouldn't get out of bed and we were due to leave the house in seven minutes.

Bought some 'Flowora' from Poundland to clean the floors with (and only because the name made me laugh). The Zoflora threadsters would not be impressed I suspect Grin

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 04/04/2019 12:38

I'm not yet dressed

My children will go to their childminder even though I'm not working today

I had a biscuit for breakfast and my children had cornflakes and then went to school breakfast club and had pancakes with syrup as well as a bagel

I can hear music from next door and I'm not the slightest bit bothered

Sindragosan · 04/04/2019 12:40

Pile of clean clothes is so big that the toddler tries to climb up it and slide down, and it entertained for long enough that I could get dressed so I didn't stop it.

It will get put away eventually I'm sure.

DIZZYTIGGER87 · 04/04/2019 12:40

Fed my son biscuits after he has refused every other form of food (been ill all week, right now I'll take him eating crap over eating nothing).

We're both still in pyjama's and I haven't showered in 3 days ( I have washed). DH is home tonight so he can take sick child duty, and I will have a bath, with the door locked and a very big glass🍷

Home77 · 04/04/2019 12:46

Ah, didn't have porridge in the rain, that was a mistake, watching the rain should have said.

Now back in bed watching the rain again, here. Will it ever stop raining today?

Enjoy the bath Dizzy, sounds like you need it (deserve it!) Wink
