'Now that the long awaited Mueller Report conclusions have been released, most Democrats and others
have gone back to the pre-Witch Hunt phase of their lives before Collusion Delusion took over. Others are pretending that their former hero, Bob Mueller, no longer exists!'

Jerry Nadler is fired up, I think?

I would like to recommend this podcast:
www.stitcher.com/podcast/fallacious-trump
Jim and Mark use the insane ramblings of a tiny-handed narcissist to explain logical fallacies. Each episode we focus on a single logical fallacy and, using examples from Trump, UK politics and pop culture, explore how and why it fools people, how to avoid committing it yourself, and how to counter it in an argument

lots of very good debunking :o

That NRA/One Nation story is truly grubby. What is also shocking, IMO, is people in this country (Australia) aren’t nearly as reviled as they should be. We are used to dodgy tactics by the lesser political party One Nation (and I say ‘lesser’ because they are not one of the primary parties, rather they sit on the right - but they have held a balance of power in the past) but this is a new low. I don’t know that it will dampen down the party, though, because - maybe it does appeal to some voters out there. And that is why I’m just not seeing much of a pushback.

TheClaws · 02/04/2019 00:12

Odd person. Candace believes the only people in the Left are black, gay and female? She also peddles BLEXIT, a movement I find misguided and rather sad - “African-Americans exiting Democrats”. It’s as if she is making a minority of herself - exacerbating the difference - rather than taking steps to heal them. Joining conservatives will not help.

Candace Owens @RealCandaceO
There is no place on the Left for white people, straight people or males.
There is only room for minority groups who wish to have enraged suburban white women peddle them around as their pet victims, as a means to garner power for themselves.

Refuse to be a pet victim. #BLEXIT

PerkingFaintly · 02/04/2019 00:57

I know I shouldn't bite, but by Owens' categories, either she's saying the "enraged suburban white women" garnering power for themselves are Right wing (or Centre) – since they can't be "on the Left" as they're white people.

Or she's speaking as though "white women" don't belong to the set "white people."

I wonder if she actually intended either of those?

TheClaws · 02/04/2019 02:51

Don’t the “enraged suburban white women” also belong on the Left, as they are using those “minority groups” to whatever ends? But that can’t be, as by Candace’s own definition, white people dont exist in the Left any longer. It’s very confusing and probably not worth thinking about. I don’t think she thought it through either.

PerkingFaintly · 02/04/2019 03:12

Indeed.

Has there been much of a reaction in the media to Joe Biden and the accounts of his inappropriate behaviour that have resurfaced after Lisa Flores' article ? There's an interesting thread on FWR about it but it seems to have passed me by almost completely - I've only seen a few mentions of it.

FishBulb · 02/04/2019 11:32

Thank you for the logical fallacy link, Hearhere. I can't help but wonder what the politics of the world would look like if everyone were taught the principles of critical thinking from a young age.

Roussette · 02/04/2019 11:49

Ewe it's all over Twitter unfortunately

Hearhere · 02/04/2019 12:58

A population armed with critical thinking skills, imagine that!
We humans are too easily distracted by bread and circuses...or the modern-day equivalents thereof

Hearhere · 02/04/2019 13:04

Presume that trump will not comment on the Biden allegations since he brags about doing the Very things that Biden is accused of

EweSurname · 02/04/2019 13:18

roussette Unfortunately because it's smears and so being all over twitter is unfair to Biden or unfortunately because lots of people saying it makes it more likely to be true? (Or neither of those - those were the two options I thought you might have meant but you may have meant something else altogether!)

lionheart · 02/04/2019 13:31

The Biden insinuations were very much in evidence during the Hillary -/anti-Obama campaign and afterwards but the focus then seemed to be on his interactions with children (girls). I always assumed that these particular accusations would return, especially if the idea of his running became more concrete but the shift towards his dealings with women is interesting.

Maybe the Epstein case is too close to home for some people.
