What is it about certain people’s faces..

... that totally rubs you up the wrong way. I mean, they might be a perfectly lovely person, but there’s something about their face that makes you want to punch them.

Take Keira Knightly for example.

I appreciate she is beautiful, that’s not the issue, it’s just something about her face that I find so irritating.

Perez Hilton. Very annoying face.

There’s a few more that I can’t recall right now but AIBU?

Fucking hell, can't stand Amanda Holden

sizzledrizz · 17/02/2019 02:02

Everyone on Made In Chelsea and TOWIE gives me the rage

ChippyMinton · 17/02/2019 02:11

Jim Carrey. I’m sure he’s funny but I cannot look at his smug mug.

TooManyPaws · 17/02/2019 02:45

AKA Elite Gender Inversion btw...loads on the interweb for those who'd like to explore further!

My eyes nearly fell out of my head with the rolling. Never heard of this so googled and found the biggest heap of shite that I've ever come across, even bigger than what comes out of Farage's frog gob. Yup, all female film stars are M to F trans, William and Harry are both F to M while Kate and Meghan are both M to F. The lack of biological knowledge in the videos is outstanding, as is the lack of logic. Truly fruitloop.

riotlady · 17/02/2019 03:10

Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 03:13

Nice aggressive thread, slapping and punching, disgusting carry on slagging off women and men, gross!

Shame on you all, and MN for letting it go on under their roof.

How is this any different from all the other harrassment that affects celebs, or anyone on sm for that matter.

rockingthelook · 17/02/2019 14:58

Forgot one- Naomi Campbell, smug, superior, nasty looking face and famous for being a clothes horse and shagging rich old blokes (apart from the numptee that is Liam Payne!), awful creature, needs a clacque

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/02/2019 16:36

Oh bog off @Smotheroffive nobody's condoning violence on here

prettypossums · 17/02/2019 18:34

Madonna, all of the Beckhams

BeautifulName · 17/02/2019 19:41

Oh yes! How did I forget the Beckhams...

blondeemily · 17/02/2019 19:53

Pixie Lott
James Corden
Rochelle Humes
Holly Willoughby

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 20:01

No no, of course not! You go ahead and minimise and normalise wanting to slap peoples faces because of how they look or they give you the rage. X needs a slap and so on. Quite frankly keep your comments to yourself, instead of telling me to bogg off for being so bold as to disagree with your opinion. Nice.

rockingthelook · 17/02/2019 20:36

Get a grip, people are doing that sense of humour thing...., do you really think that in real life any of the mumsnetters would actually do such a thing as physical violence to any of the people they have mentioned?it's a lighthearted thread, some of the terminology used has been done so in order to make others laugh and is simply the written down version of probably what people say out loud to friends. If you censor things like this there wouldn't be programmes such as Gogglebox etc

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 20:41

I don't have to delight in talk of slapping faces, or agree that it's ok no matter how much you try to tell me off

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 20:41

You should probs give my face a good slap or a kicking

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/02/2019 21:52

Well maybe you should hide this thread so it doesn't bother you so much?

StoneofDestiny · 17/02/2019 22:03

Super slappable face - Lacy Colin Campbell. Saw her on TV last night - ugh, the voice, the face, the opinions - where has she been dug up from.......

SayMehToTheDress · 17/02/2019 22:22

Smotheroffive

I think the thread is horrible too.

some of the terminology used has been done so in order to make others laugh

I remember a bully at school giving this as a reason she said horrible things when one the other girls she way bullying told her parents and the bully was challenged by the head. Not funny really.

No I don't believe that most, if any on here would go around punching people in real life because people that say things like this are usually cowards or two faced. Some comments aren't too bad if you like that sort of thing but some are very personal. Apparently my friends daughter had a 'slappable' face from age 13 to 16. So slappable that she had her features such as her eyes and lips made fun of, just like on this thread, much of it done online and by the end of school she was suicidal. That's ok though as it was funny to some people. Hmm Just like Kiera Knightely, my friends daughter is actually exceptionally pretty unlike the 'funny bullies' who were ugly inside and out.

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 22:34

...and maybe you should stop telling others what to do or think Flabber

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 22:36

Offensive bulies, online and irl

PentreBachCymraeg · 17/02/2019 23:04

🙄

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 23:18

You rolling your eyes at me there?! Rude much.

Those of you slagging off people on this thread would you be saying that of each other, those of you with obviously such perfect flawless faces of course, god how you must rate yourselves! Of what if Keira knightley was posting would you be telling her she needs a slap!

kooshbin · 17/02/2019 23:21

I occasionally recognise the names of celebs, either on this thread or on others. And if I recognise some names, I don't often know what they look like.

But I understand the phenomenon of some people's faces, whether they're celebs or not, engendering a negative reaction. For me, sometimes it's a face that has a permanent smirk, even if it's just a faint smirk. I've met plenty of those through work.

And some other faces just seem way too smooth. If they have emotions, those don't seem to get as far as their face. That's why I don't understand the fad for Botox.

One real-life face that I had a major negative reaction to was Jeremy Bamber.

Anecdote: I was once temping in a specific hospital department. I asked what the consultants looked like as I hadn't met either of them. I was told that one consultant looked like , to which I replied that I didn't know what actually looked like. They all fell about laughing.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 18/02/2019 06:57

I wasn't telling anyone to do anything, merely making a suggestion. This is a lighthearted thread about people who provoke an irrational reaction, nobody is bullying anybody.

I've got resting bitchy face so I'm sure there's more than one person whose hand has itched to give me a good slap....c'est la vie.

StoneofDestiny · 18/02/2019 08:32

Yes, most normal people will view it that way because they understand what is is to speak with humour.
