From Bette Davis, who was too canny to name names. Smile

Here is the old thread:

I can see why, also.

That photo taken at the basketball match is horrific - I don't think I've ever seen anything like that.. the blacking up Shock

I stand by my original response - the look of superiority on that boys face still says it all to me but those images .. awful!

From the footage on Friday, a group of girls are there and one of the entitled brats students yells "it's not rape if you enjoy it!"

Says it all as you say SanFran

@NatashaBertrand
New: FBI Agents Association just released a 72-page report about the shutdown. "The shutdown has eliminated any ability to operate," says 1 agent. "The US Attorney's Office is unable to issue grand jury
subpoenas for financial institutions," says another. (link: www.fbiaa.org/sites/default/files/downloadable/FBIAA%20Voices%20from%20the%20Field.pdf )

Natasha Bertrand
@NatashaBertrand
Notable: The shutdown is impacting federal investigations. Another agent says: "I have been advised by our US Attorney's Office that because of the shutdown there are no funds allocated to pay for grand jury subpoenas...This is causing affected investigations to be put on hold."

GOP doesn't care about public disapproval as a result of the shutdown, and aren't concerned about being voted out as a result of disapproval. This means that (yet again) people need to examine election integrity. GOP are acting like a party which believes people have no leverage.

As I said before, this is not a shutdown, it's a hostile restructuring. The longer it goes on, the more damage it causes -- humanitarian consequences, power grabs, lost expectations. Do not normalize this shutdown.

So Trump wants to meet the MAGA moblings at the WH.

And still plans to deliver the State of the Union address even though he's been univited ...

Does anyone know what is actually going on? On channel 4 Beyond 100 days, william Penn( I think) is summarising the threat to security of the shutdown. It’s scary.
Putin must be mighty pleased.

Minimammoth · 22/01/2019 19:58

Is Sarah S redundant then?

cozietoesie · 22/01/2019 19:59

If that's true lion, I'm disgusted, absolutely disgusted.

Next he'll be meeting with the 'misunderstood' Grand Dragon of the KKK!

AcrossthePond55 · 22/01/2019 20:53

In other news, a vote on Scrotus' proposed end to the shutdown will be taken on Thursday. It's not expected to get the needed 60 votes as the GOP only controls 53 seats, but it still makes me nervous.

Congress passes a bill expressing support for NATO. The only naysayers were conservative Republicans.

Tia Yes, and I still think they were an uncontrolled mob of racist, sexist idiot kids who felt they could get away with anything, particularly with those ridiculous hats on.

MerdedeBrexit · 23/01/2019 05:53

I'm going to eschew Trump and Brexit for a while and immerse myself in fluffy pink clouds and unicorns till I feel I can cope again. (I may be some time.) The MAGA hat boys and Farage's latest crap have felled me. Keep up the good work documenting everything, you lovely people.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 23/01/2019 07:21

We'll miss you Merde but your well-being is more important. Flowers
I have gone back to reading novels and such like on my commute rather than the news. I've been arriving at work as 'grumpy old woman' for the last two years!

Roussette · 23/01/2019 07:45

Look after yourself Merdede, fluffy pink clouds sound good. I think we all need to take big breaks from the crap that is MAGA... I'm not around in March so that'll be me disappearing for a while.

Never in the history of this country has it been legal to make people work for free but that’s what’s happening to federal employees. This can never happen again.
