Walked up to the till to pay in a busy crowded cafe. Man at the till waiting to be seated took his jacket off without looking to see if there was anyone else.around him. Removed it in the most overdramatic manspreading way imaginable and walloped me hard in the ear. Its still throbbing an hour later.

Ouch. It was an accident though.

Sirzy · 22/12/2018 15:32

Sounds like an accident. These things happen

DeepDarkWoods · 22/12/2018 15:32

It's busy, accidents happen.

werideatdawn · 22/12/2018 15:33

I doubt it was on purpose..

CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 15:33

It doesn't happen if you look over your shoulder before flinging your arms around though Angry imagine if the DC had flung their arms about and knocked the chutneys off the shelf.

OP posts:
CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 15:34

Clearly it wasn't on.purpose but it was painful.and avoidable.

OP posts:
Rosley · 22/12/2018 15:35

Did he apologise to you?

KittensAndChristmasCake · 22/12/2018 15:35

Yes it was definitely because he was a man 😏

PotteringAlong · 22/12/2018 15:36

Clearly it wasn't on.purpose but it was painful.and avoidable

Such is the nature of accidents.

Sirzy · 22/12/2018 15:36

Maybe you shouldn’t have stood so close to him?

Seems a rather dramatic reaction from you for an accident

CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 15:38

What's dramatic? Saying ouch? Rubbing my ear? It's throbbing and I can't hear. But I didn't actually react. And where else would I stand, in a crowded cafe with a small till area when I wanted to pay?

Ok I'm being unreasonable. Apparently we all now throw our arms.aroud with gleeful abandon, and if anyone gets hurt, oh well.

NOTthepinkranger · 22/12/2018 15:40

Why are you trying so hard to be offended

CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 15:41

Not offended. Sore.

OP posts:
Ifailed · 22/12/2018 15:41

Would you be so upset if it was a women?

CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 15:41

And feeling sore is coming fairly effortlessly.

OP posts:
CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 15:41

Absolutely I would be so upset if it was a woman.

OP posts:
CrispbuttyNo1 · 22/12/2018 15:42

“ It's throbbing and I can't hear.”

Was it a wax jacket? Grin

Callmedarcy · 22/12/2018 15:42

Not the chutney!! Shock

You can’t hear now? ... that’s not being dramatic in the slightest ...

TeaStory · 22/12/2018 15:42

YANBU. We learn as children not to be so stupid and thoughtless, so I don’t know why you’re getting such a hard time OP.

CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 15:42

Mind you it probably wouldn't have hurt as much, there aren't many women tall enough to whack me in the ear when taking off a coat. An average sized woman would have caught my shoulder or something.

OP posts:
GreatDuckCookery6211 · 22/12/2018 15:43

No point continuing to be angry OP. It was an accident. Hope you feel better soon.

PinkDaffodil2 · 22/12/2018 15:43

If our actually can’t hear from the ear please do get it checked out. If you have ruptured your eardrum there’s not much to be done but good to know about healing and keeping an eye out for infection.

Moussemoose · 22/12/2018 15:45

If it was a woman it probably wouldn't have had as much force or weight behind it.

Of course you should look around you and take care. Is it an accident if it was entirely avoidable with a little care? Accidents do happen if you act like a selfish twat.

lanbro · 22/12/2018 15:45

My daughter was punched on the nose today by one of my customers taking his coat off...I gave her a cuddle and told her to be more aware of her surroundings, customer apologised. Id actually forgotten all about it til I read your thread!

QueenNovo · 22/12/2018 15:46

YANBU. He should have been more bloody careful.
