Why should they even if they have transitioned fully?

What do you mean by 'transitioned fully' here?

VerbeenaBeeks · 08/12/2018 13:12

So you will always treat a trans sexual woman as a man? Which surely must be violating the Equality Act?

Exactly. Some say always men, whatever they do. But they can't see that what they're saying is exactly that Confused

UpstartCrow · 08/12/2018 13:12

Sex is a protected characteristic.
If one characteristic erases the rights and protections of another it creates a hierarchy of conflicting rights; and turns needed rights into a supremacy movement.

Calvinsmam · 08/12/2018 13:13

The only way the parallel to ismlaphobia would work would be if it was considered islamaphobic to not believe in the one god Allah or believe what’s written in the Koran.

In order to not fall into the definition of transphobia you have to believe that trans women are literal women, you have to subscribe to their ideology.

SpiderJoe · 08/12/2018 13:13

I personally had no problem with the old 'agreement' that meant that actual transwomen could quickly and considerately use the women's bathroom but now we're being expected to share the bathroom with men en masse, not just your average transwomen but autogynephiles and any man who decides that he's a woman that day. I do not want to share private space with the so called 'transwomen' who dresses like a sex shop had a closing down sale and who asked my friend/their colleague to bring in their underwear saying its fine if they're used.

2. Men retain Male patterns and rates of sexual offending after transition

So why would I want men either transitioned or not in single sex provision?
But trans men adopt male patterns of offending after transition. Yet following the logic on here, trans men are women and therefore should use female sex segregated spaces, whilst posing a theoretical threat to the women and children in those spaces?

Datun · 08/12/2018 13:15

Like calling all transwoman ‘men with fetishes’, creating threads to criticise transgender rememberance days, creating threads moaning when anyone draws attention to discrimination a transgender person may face, calling transwoman ‘men’, using misused statistics to ‘prove’ trans people are dangerous.

But that's just lying. No one calls all transwomen, anything. Only you. The entire point is the distinction between gender dysphoria and AGP. That IS the point.

It's necessary to acknowledge that transwomen are men. It's not a bloody game. Otherwise the protected characteristic of sex is meaningless, if anyone can be any sex.

When transsexuals talk about the 'abusive men' who are busy abusing women under the umbrella of trans, and those exact same men, post about themselves, damn right they're going to be criticised.

When Paris Lees says that sexual objectification is hot and because they are women, they speak on behalf of women, damn right women are going to pick it apart.

Your refusal to acknowledge, on any level, that men with gender dysphoria are being exploited by misogynists from one end of the country to the other, is bizarre.

UpstartCrow · 08/12/2018 13:15

Gender reassignment is a protected characteristic, meaning you cannot discriminate against someone based on that characteristic.

Self ID moves the goalposts and removes all safeguarding.

If you cannot see a conflict that's your problem, not mine. Leave my rights alone.

VerbeenaBeeks · 08/12/2018 13:15

but now we're being expected to share the bathroom with men en masse, not just your average transwomen but autogynephiles and any man who decides that he's a woman that day

En masse? Blimey. You make it sound like an army of men marching in and out of the ladies demanding to go wee.
When in reality it's not en masse at all.

SpiderJoe · 08/12/2018 13:16

The law treating transwomen as women is a piece of legal fiction that has no basis in reality and even that allows for exemptions to be made(for now).

VerbeenaBeeks · 08/12/2018 13:17

When Paris Lees says that sexual objectification is hot and because they are women

Look, here's an example of fly under the guidelines - Paris Lees a they? No, she's a she.
Why say they? As you'll never accept her as a she?

Calvinsmam · 08/12/2018 13:18

^So you will always treat a trans sexual woman as a man? Which surely must be violating the Equality Act?

Exactly. Some say always men, whatever they do. But they can't see that what they're saying is exactly that^

Actually the equality act allows for circumstances when trans women are treat as a male.

99.99% of the time I will treat a trans woman however she wishes to be treat. I will call her what she likes, I’ll use whatever pronouns she likes.
There are very few circumstances where I think it’s appropriate for people to be segregated by sex but those circumstances are so important and I would like the right to retain them.

Weetabixandshreddies · 08/12/2018 13:19

Sex is a protected characteristic.

Yes it is. And so is gender reassignment.

Gender reassignment is a protected characteristic, meaning you cannot discriminate against someone based on that characteristic.

And so how is saying that post transition a person remains male because it is in their DNA and treating them as their birth sex, regardless of transition, not falling foul of the Equality Act?

merrymouse · 08/12/2018 13:19

But trans men adopt male patterns of offending after transition.

No they don’t.

SpiderJoe · 08/12/2018 13:20

It is en masse when you consider how many women's spaces have already been affected and how many more will be affected in the future. There's a big difference between generously deciding to allow someone to enter your space and having your door forced open and being trampled over with scant regard to your feelings or safety.

Calvinsmam · 08/12/2018 13:20

And so how is saying that post transition a person remains male because it is in their DNA and treating them as their birth sex, regardless of transition, not falling foul of the Equality Act?

Because there’s exemptions in the equality act.

VerbeenaBeeks · 08/12/2018 13:20

This

merrymouse · 08/12/2018 13:21

And even if they did they still have female height and bone structure.

Weetabixandshreddies · 08/12/2018 13:22

Because there’s exemptions in the equality act.

Yes and I doubt using the ladies loo is one of those examples of exemption from the EA

merrymouse · 08/12/2018 13:23

And so how is saying that post transition a person remains male because it is in their DNA and treating them as their birth sex, regardless of transition, not falling foul of the Equality Act?

The 2004 GRC specifically states that trans women cannot be treated as female in all cases.

Weetabixandshreddies · 08/12/2018 13:24

merrymouse
People have linked to studies in the past indicating this.

SpiderJoe · 08/12/2018 13:25

Female height and bone structure? BS. Even after full transition transwomen are far stronger, far faster, far more muscular and have higher testosterone levels than women. And yes they retain male patterns of violence.

Calvinsmam · 08/12/2018 13:25

Yes and I doubt using the ladies loo is one of those examples of exemption from the EA

Well quite.
Having a GRC does mean that you need to be treat like your new gender identity. So explain to me how making the process simpler and saying all you have to do is fill in a form to get one makes it safer for women?

Weetabixandshreddies · 08/12/2018 13:25

The 2004 GRC specifically states that trans women cannot be treated as female in all cases.

And on what grounds can those exemptions be made?

Not using the ladies toilet

Calvinsmam · 08/12/2018 13:26

What exactly is your point wheetabix? I think you’ve lost me.
