Not sure if this Guardian article has been linked before www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/dec/04/donald-trump-russia-robert-mueller-legal-trouble
Do you think if we do a mind meld we can send some vibes to Mueller.

Looking at Trump's signature I imagine it being printed in white on a black flag. Then I imagine marching around town with it and being arrested for being a supporter of Daesh.

'It’s not yet clear whether the shady-sounding plan of President Donald Trump’s company to give Russian President Vladimir Putin a $50 million penthouse during the 2016 election cycle meets the legal definition of a bribe ― or is even illegal ― experts tell HuffPost.'

Public opinion would 'have him', regardless. (That's something the base would understand.)

Sen Dianne Feinstein
@SenFeinstein
Roger Stone’s attorney sent a letter this week stating Stone won’t provide documents or appear for an interview before the committee. (link: www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?a=files.serve&File_id=FE389CD2-53FF-4377-A9A9-45FB5F18B559 )

Natasha Bertrand
@NatashaBertrand
Stone is pleading the fifth.

lionheart · 04/12/2018 21:56

I don't know exactly what it means to plead the Fifth, apart from the obvious. I may have to do some reading ...

Hello Lettuce.

Lots of clock-watching on the Cohen front...

For example

@yashar
Mueller has until 11:59 PM EST to file the Flynn sentencing memo....

But I understand, per two sources, that the Flynn sentencing memo is expected to drop by 7:00 PM eastern.

"Pleading the Fifth" is a term for invoking the right that allows witnesses to decline to answer questions where the answers might incriminate them, and generally without having to suffer a penalty for asserting the right. (from wiki)

Text of Fifth Amendment to the Constitution:

No person shall be subject, except in cases of impeachment, to more than one punishment or trial for the same offense; nor shall be compelled to be a witness against himself; nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor be obliged to relinquish his property, where it may be necessary for public use, without just compensation....[E]xcept in cases of impeachments, and cases arising in the land or naval forces, or the militia when on actual service, in time of war or public danger...in all crimes punishable with loss of life or member, presentment or indictment by a grand jury shall be an essential preliminary....

While the clock ticks ...

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-46449696?ocid=socialflow_twitter

'Four men have been charged in the US with fraud and tax evasion in connection with investigations prompted by the leaked Panama Papers.

Justice officials said the four were involved in a "decades-long criminal scheme perpetrated by Mossack Fonseca".

Mossack Fonseca was the Panama-based law firm subjected to a massive leak of papers in 2016 that lifted the lid on hidden tax activities of the wealthy.

Three of the four men named on Tuesday are under arrest, one is at large.'

'I would just like to point out that, as a general matter, the Fifth Amendment does not protect documents. It protects testimony.'

'There may be what the court has termed testimonial qualities of the act of producing documents, but the documents themselves are not protected by the 5th Amendment.'
