To be angry and feel the Scottish Gov’s Twitter header is an attack on women?

i’d like them to clarify exactly what their definition of “transphobic” is because it seems to have become a slur these days often aimed at anyone but mostly women who are critical of or question in any way the recent upsurge of identity politics. I just feel they’re doing a knee jerk, ignorant, unnecessary huge fuck you to women.

Yes and I'll say it as many times as I need to. MTF trans people are male. That's what the M stands for.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 13:54

The poster made an extremely valid point and I specifically said the swear was not cool.

You did not. You ingratiated yourself and you warned them that they shouldn't breach talk guidelines. Not the same. It's nice that you agree with abusive types and want them to be able to verbally abuse women. I'm sure it's a total shock to everyone, really.

VerbeenaBeeks · 06/12/2018 14:01

Oh FGS, as I said - what's good for what you do is good for others, surely?
What they said was a valid point. You won't see that though, will you just concentrate on the swear bit.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:02

I don't call people cunts Verbeena or do anything remotely like it, so don't pretend that I do.

VerbeenaBeeks · 06/12/2018 14:04

When did I ever say you did? Confused You never have. As far as I know. Are you missing the point on purpose?
There is more than one way to skirt and dodge the guidelines and it gets done alllll the time.

I'm not a cunt. I care about women's rights and I will fight to protect them. Sorry, your false belief in gender identity ideology doesn't make you morally superior. Quite the opposite actually when you don't acknowledge the bullying and violent threats of transactivists but instead pretend that women's unwillingness to participate in a lie is the problem here and it should be a police matter.

Some of you need to read this thread

Shocking bullying of gender critical law professor (Rosa Freedman)
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3443107-Shocking-bullying-of-gender-critical-law-professor-Rosa-Freedman

VerbeenaBeeks · 06/12/2018 14:12

I never said you were one. Never have, and never would.
The bit I was referring to that was valid is why is it OK to want the definition narrowing to be able to get away with out and out transphobia towards transwomen that you have said you will never accept?

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:12

Perhaps the pattern is that you can't go around calling women cunts?

VerbeenaBeeks · 06/12/2018 14:14

And some of you need to read THIS thread right here and see bullying goes both ways.
Assuming you can see it or accept it in the first place that is.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:14

Not "accepting" that male people can change sex is not transphobia. It's a belief backed up by science.

No one is saying that violence or harassment directed at trans people is ok.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:15

I'm sure any impartial reader would have some thoughts about your posting on this thread, too, Verbeena.

BonnieandHyde · 06/12/2018 14:17

Can someone explain why doing this sort of thing to biological women is not a hate crime?

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:18

Read the thread I posted and see what happened to Professor Rosa Freedman for questioning proposed legal changes, and proposing a fair solution to balance rights.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:18

Sorry Bonnie, I cross posted.

VerbeenaBeeks · 06/12/2018 14:18

Right, so you're saying that it's not ok to physically attack or harass transpeople. Well that's good at least.
You presumably have absolutely no problems with people patronising them, cyberbullying them online, name calling, refusing to ever accept them as she and call them they or their name over and over again to prove your point that in your eyes they're never a woman.... for starters.
Right. Ok.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:20

I'm not going to call them "she". I avoid the issue. You don't get to compel me to participate in something I don't believe.

They can think what they like. Anybody with eyes can see what has been said if they're not completely closed off that is.
Other people might feel hounded off or upset. I haven't disappeared and it's no likey as it questions the sheer nastiness.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:21

Anybody with eyes can see what has been said

YY.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:22

And I did the YY, because I'm not going to be told how to post by you.

VerbeenaBeeks · 06/12/2018 14:23

Don't call them she then. You do you. Seeing as that's the point of what the whole thread was about though in the first place, Twitter calling out transphobic online behaviour, shows it is a thing really.

Ereshkigal · 06/12/2018 14:24

It's not transphobia.
