i’d like them to clarify exactly what their definition of “transphobic” is because it seems to have become a slur these days often aimed at anyone but mostly women who are critical of or question in any way the recent upsurge of identity politics. I just feel they’re doing a knee jerk, ignorant, unnecessary huge fuck you to women.

VerbeenaBeeks why is there no point in you answering? I have read through the majority of the posts on this thread, and those questons/points I posed are directly in response to what you and others you agree with have said. I'm asking in good faith, and am happy to answer any questions you pose.

That clearly means that what makes us women is our female biology.
Just as what makes an artist is someone who creates or has created art - that doesn't mean that's all the artist is.
It doesn't mean that's all the woman is.
It means that the facet of that human being that defines them as "woman" or "artist" is biology or art. They as an individual have many other facets though, however.

Women are not only our biology, but it is our biology which makes us vulnerable, and it is our biology which over the centuries has meant we couldn’t vote, own property, work at the jobs we wanted, earn a fair wage etc.

It is our biology which means the UN segregate refugee camps. Women are raped during conflict, or become sex slaves. Women are trafficked. Women die round the world in their thousands every year while pregnant or giving birth, or shortly thereafter. All this is down to our biology.

All the other things women are capable of, the scientists, artists, writers, bakers, gardeners, musicians, politicians - we are these things because we are human. Sometimes our biology may even influence how we go about our lives.

Nope, nothing to do with guilt tripping anyone (funny how you pick up on that bit of the post only and completely ignore the rest), but one of the things which made be worry about self Id was concern for daughters, nieces etc, girls and young women who will have to deal with this crap. Note, I said Self ID was an issue, not trans women.
