Is it a formal affair where you wear your Sunday best or is it cosy pj’s all day long for you? A bit of both?

Cosy PJs!

Onatreebyariver · 25/11/2018 08:30

just normal clothes. PJ's for a while but then when I do get round to having a shower and getting dressed just wear anything from my wardrobe as if it were any other day

BuffaloCauliflower · 25/11/2018 08:30

Somewhere in the middle. We don’t dress up, but we do get dressed.

AwfulSomething · 25/11/2018 08:31

Uniform.

hoki · 25/11/2018 08:31

Jammies in my own house and then just normal, everyday jeans/casual dress for the day. I don't buy new Christmas clothes for any of us unless we happen to need new stuff

Cuzcothellama · 25/11/2018 08:32

Christmas jumpers. I usually dig out a sparkly skirt too.

DC have special posh new Christmas clothes, but they're more for going to the ballet / theatre.

CherryPavlova · 25/11/2018 08:32

Normal clothes but I’d look a bit odd in church wearing nightwear. I might choose a red or green dress as token effort at dressing up. I use my Christmas apron to cook in.

MsVestibule · 25/11/2018 08:33

It's a big day, we prepare for it for ages, so I dress up! Not a ballgown, just a 'going out for a nice lunch' dress.

MadisonAvenue · 25/11/2018 08:33

Just normal everyday clothing, jeans and a top.

NashvilleQueen · 25/11/2018 08:33

I will usually make a bit of an effort to put some make up on (which I wouldn’t usually if just staying in the house all day). But generally jeans and a nice top. Very occasionally a dress. I do tend to make more of an effort on Christmas Eve as it’s the best day of the year.

Oogle · 25/11/2018 08:34

Used to dress up but now it’s Christmas jumpers and comfy trousers with the obligatory paper hat Grin

SuperMoonIsKeepingMeUpToo · 25/11/2018 08:35

Dressing gowns or jeans till around noon, then dressed up nicely in good time for pre-lunch drinkies. The lunch is an important affair in our family, and everyone helps to make it the most elaborate meal of the year. I bloody love It!!!

MissMarplesKnitting · 25/11/2018 08:35

Mixture. Usually PJ's til lunch then on go Christmas jumpers with jeans or trousers.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 25/11/2018 08:36

A nice top and comfy (stretchy!) trousers. Just as comfy as jammies but more formal.

MissMarplesKnitting · 25/11/2018 08:36

Sorry I should add Christmas dinner is had later here. We chill and have snacks til lunchtime. We are festively attired for the big dinner

Rixera · 25/11/2018 08:37

Not high formal but nicely dressed! I make DD a Christmas dress, either tartan or something red & gold, OH wears a nice shirt, I wear something a bit festive- usually tartan like DD, or nice blouse under red dress. This year have treated myself to 50's style dress with reindeer & snow pattern!

Bluntness100 · 25/11/2018 08:37

I make a bit of an effort, hair and make up done and a nice top usually with jeans, last year I wore my hush Tara dress. So not slobbing around, but not dressed up either.

crispsahoy · 25/11/2018 08:38

Ive always dressed up in something new, but have always had dinner at my parents or out. Now I'm doing it at home I'll probably stay in my Xmas pyjamas we get in Xmas eve!

Legouni · 25/11/2018 08:39

A lovely mash up of cozy pj bottoms and a family competition for the most over the top, gaudy, flashing Christmas jumper one can find.

C0untDucku1a · 25/11/2018 08:39

We were christmas smart casual. Nice jeans for the boys and christmas jumpers. Christmas dresses for the girls. And we break up the day by going to the pub.

TheWernethWife · 25/11/2018 08:39

Black pants and a sparkly top.

WooYa · 25/11/2018 08:40

Nothing too much but nice enough... usually jeans/leggings and a nice top/jumper dress.

ClashCityRocker · 25/11/2018 08:40

If we're going to see family, it's tradition to wear as many of the new clothes you've been given as a present as humanly possible. Right down to the socks and underwear.

At home, we will stay in lounge Wear.

When I was wee we used to dress for dinner - I hated it.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 25/11/2018 08:41

At home I'd be in PJ's. But Xmas jumper to go out

Beebumble2 · 25/11/2018 08:41

Dress up, we visit DSs and their families during the day and I think it’s nice to make it a bit of a special visit. They wear whatever they want.
