Is it a formal affair where you wear your Sunday best or is it cosy pj’s all day long for you? A bit of both?

Xmas top/jumper, jeans and boots

maddiemookins16mum · 25/11/2018 09:14

Christmas jumpers, socks and jeans.

gamerwidow · 25/11/2018 09:15

Just normal clothes. I might buy a sparkly jumper or top but normally I’m in the kitchen most of the morning cooking and then on the floor in the afternoon playing so Sunday best is a bit impractical.

Dollymixture22 · 25/11/2018 09:16

I always plan an outfit, but it has to be comfortable. I wore a skirt one year, very pretty, but was a pain, laddered tights playing with neice and nephew. We also go our for a walk so need layers.

So will be jeans and a nice top!!

OneStepMoreFun · 25/11/2018 09:17

DC both love fashion so will put on any new stuff they've been given. DH and I wear normal clothes, though I will put on something a bit nicer than jeans and a tee shirt. I used to dress up but now I'm overweight I am more conscious of comfort than glamour.

Blanchedupetitpois · 25/11/2018 09:19

Cosy Pjs for stockings, then jeans and a nice top for most of the day, then dress up to eat (we eat our Christmas meal in the evening)

FourFuxxakes · 25/11/2018 09:21

Whatever we want! Unusually put on my Xmas jumper. I'll dig it out and start wearing it from the end of next week onwards.

wildewillow · 25/11/2018 09:29

I like to feel casual but fancy. We have to get dressed as we have to go to the in laws every Christmas Day AND Boxing Day. Usually I'll wear a dress with tights and boots. Or jeans with a Christmassy top and a bit of sparkle.

PlatypusPie · 25/11/2018 09:30

Comfortable normal house clothes ie yoga pants and top to do the morning prep, then change for 11.30 brunch into nice but not OTT top and trousers. Add a few layers for our traditional afternoon park walk then smarten up a bit for Xmas dinner at 5.30.

I would find the idea of everyone sitting around the dinner table in pyjamas very strange.

Mulberry72 · 25/11/2018 09:32

Usually an Xmas T-shirt and jeans if we’re going to family. If we’re staying at home it’s usually jogging pants and an Xmas Tshirt

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 25/11/2018 09:34

Australia - too hot to dress up much, but we do wear Christmas t-shirts and maybe something a bit sparkly.

Candlemist · 25/11/2018 09:36

Normal everyday clothes, but I do have a dozen red sparkly xmas feather boas - which everyone has to wear. Whether they like it or not.

Heismyopendoor · 25/11/2018 09:38

Pjs all day for us :) we don’t leave the house!

MereDintofPandiculation · 25/11/2018 09:46

Dressed up. Most important meal of the year, respect to the family who will be joining me, house is decorated, table looks fantastic, why wouldn't I want to look my best?

(Mind, all my clothes are comfortable, so I've never felt the need for PJs to be comfortable.)

I've always worked in academic/research type scenarios, so have never had to wear high heels, immaculate make-up for work. I might feel differently if I spent most of the year putting effort into making myself smart. But as it is, any family get together is an excuse for making a bit of an effort.

MrsStrowman · 25/11/2018 09:52

Usually a nice dress, but this year PJs are likely as DS is due a few days before Christmas

JellyBears · 25/11/2018 09:54

We always either have family for dinner or go to said family so I usually have new pjs for our champagne and stocking breakfast, then we take dog for her walk the. Get the nice visitor clothes on. Usually a nice sweater dress and sparkly tights etc.

JaceLancs · 25/11/2018 10:18

Sweater dress and opaques
Last year was plain black with a hint of glitter
This year navy and gold stripes

Xenia · 25/11/2018 10:24

Marks and Spencer's "Fancy Little Knickers" and nothing else, of course.....

(joking.....)

cricketmum84 · 25/11/2018 10:26

Just a Christmas t-shirt and jeans. I usually cook Christmas dinner so jumpers are out the window or I'd cook myself!!

tierraJ · 25/11/2018 10:27

I go to my sisters & wear a nice top eg a sparkly jumper with jeans.

PottyPotterer · 25/11/2018 10:27

Normal clothes but our family Christmas is very relaxed, immediate family only. We have a big family party on Christmas Eve where we all get dressed up though.

Elphame · 25/11/2018 10:28

It's a normal day and I wear normal clothes.

Gardai · 25/11/2018 10:33

@Xenia - I will be
Pants and nothing else

Livpool · 25/11/2018 10:37

Jeans and a nice top. It is a special day

n0ne · 25/11/2018 10:41

We like to kind of dress up. Preferably in red or green Grin
