Is it a formal affair where you wear your Sunday best or is it cosy pj’s all day long for you? A bit of both?

This year I'm wearing a sparkly dress....i don't cook dinner or do dishes etc so this is fine.

Purplejay · 25/11/2018 08:43

We get dressed for christmas dinner which is usually late afternoon. Going out for lunch attire. We have a cooked breakfast/brunch and that can be in pjs. We have crackers with both! 🎄

quirkychick · 25/11/2018 08:43

Pyjamas while the dcs open their "stockings" (Christmas sacks), then get dressed, not super dressed up as we stay at home. No paper hats or crackers here, though Smile.

LakieLady · 25/11/2018 08:45

If it's just us, PJs or joggers.

If we go out or have guests, I'd change into a dress or a nice top and skirt/eveningy trousers.

Gotthetshirt23 · 25/11/2018 08:46

No crackers? Shock

stressedtiredbuthappy · 25/11/2018 08:49

I've got a very Christmassy dress with Holly, candy canes etc but it's for my 2yo benefit!

EnglishRose13 · 25/11/2018 08:49

I tend to dress up for the morning but I'll be in my pjs before we eat. I've no idea why!

LizzieBennettDarcy · 25/11/2018 08:50

We've always got dressed up. It's a special day.

Ragwort · 25/11/2018 08:52

Normalclothes, personally I wouldn’t dream of eating a meal (apart from breakfast) in my pyjamas.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/11/2018 08:53

I have some fleecy leggings (Primark nordic print) and a blue sweatshirt with Father Christmas sleigh and light up reindeer noses ( it is nice though Xmas Grin )
That's worn for coffee/breakfast

Then I change into brocade leggings and a Christmas jumper for dinner (and a pinny to cook in)

SabineUndine · 25/11/2018 08:57

Stretchy knitted cotton slob-out clothes.

Herja · 25/11/2018 08:57

My stretchiest jeans and a pretty, but not tight top. This year I have my eye on a long sleeved velvet wrap top.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 25/11/2018 08:59

I've bought us all matching black t shirts with Santa on this year

Lovemusic33 · 25/11/2018 08:59

Pj’s if at home, comfy casual clothes if visiting family, Christmas jumper if going to my dads as there seems to be a bit of a Christmas jumper theme going on at his most years.

PiperPublickOccurrences · 25/11/2018 09:00

Normal clothes - although we do all get dressed.

My mother was of the opinion "it's a special day, Sunday best" even when it was just us at home all day. Definitely no Sunday best and Christmas themed clothing in this house. Yuk.

MaMisled · 25/11/2018 09:00

Something i don't mind getting turkey fat on!

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 25/11/2018 09:03

posh new clothes as we always go out to lunch then back home and straight into the new pjays!

OhTheRoses · 25/11/2018 09:03

I've always bought myself something new for Christmas.

Birdie6 · 25/11/2018 09:06

We have a casual barbecue at my DD's place, sleep over, and have a family Christmas morning together. I always buy a new outfit for DH and myself - something with a Christmassy feel. This year I've got a white dress which I'll dress up with festive jewelry , and for DH a pair of chinos and a Hawaiian print shirt covered in splashy red flowers. We live in the tropics, so this type of outfit is the norm here.

hazeyjane · 25/11/2018 09:10

Something with a stretchy waistband

StarsAndMoonlight · 25/11/2018 09:10

New pjs before bed on Christmas Eve; wear them all day Christmas Day.

quirkychick · 25/11/2018 09:11

Gottheshirt no crackers or turkey Shock. When we've had lots of dp's family over in the past, we have had both. But it's not something we had when I grew up as we didn't really like either. So going out for lunch attire, is a good description.

LostInShoebiz · 25/11/2018 09:11

So for people saying they wear pyjamas, do you cook dinner and then eat in them? Do you wear the same ones to bed that night?

LustyBusty · 25/11/2018 09:13

I'm hoping to be in a swimsuit and shorts.... Assuming summer arrives at some point. It has the potential to hit 40C here Xmas day so the "dress code" is "as little as possible". However, if it's sub 30C I'll probably put a pretty dress or something on, smartish but comfy.

Tattybear16 · 25/11/2018 09:13

If I’m at work uniform, this is my second Xmas not pulling the work shift, yah. I’m usually cooking so a nice sparkly top and jeans.
