Is it a formal affair where you wear your Sunday best or is it cosy pj’s all day long for you? A bit of both?

Pjs all day if we are staying in.

Leggings and a Christmas jumper (so essentially outside appropriate pyjamas 😂) if visiting family.

I was most upset one year we went out for Christmas Dinner and I had to dress up nicely. Wasted a while hour and a half of the actual day!!

guiltynetter · 25/11/2018 10:53

i always wear a new dress. nothing too dressy. i like to make a bit of effort.

DanSullivan · 25/11/2018 11:00

I’ve got some —hideous— Christmas trousers, which have an elasticated waste. I wear them with a comfy Xmas jumper or tshirt.
I make a bit more of an effort on Christmas Eve.

DanSullivan · 25/11/2018 11:00

*elasticated waist

The same as I would on a Sunday. I am going out of the house to church and maybe in the evening to one of the neighbours.

frogsbreath · 25/11/2018 11:07

Pyjamas and dressing gown until 11am ish. Normal clothes after that. We spend the day at home and it's wonderful.

JudasPrudy · 25/11/2018 11:09

I don't wear anything fancy but I do make sure my hair and make up is done for visiting family after lunch.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 25/11/2018 11:25

We dress pretty formally. Dresses for women and girls, shirts if not ties for men. We have callers most of the day and they are similarly dressed. We do a charity sport thing at 10am so when we come home from that everyone showers and dresses.

Xenia · 25/11/2018 11:43

Gardai is winning my prize so far - knickers/pants and nothing else although may be don't wear that for church! and you'd better turn the heating up. That's the problem with nudity in England. We don't have the cilmate for it.

HildaZelda · 25/11/2018 11:46

Dressed up. If you can't dress up at Christmas, when can you? I couldn't imagine spending all day in pyjamas and everyone sitting down to Christmas dinner in them Confused

Cocolepew · 25/11/2018 11:48

Christmas jumper and something with a bit of give in the waistband Grin

WinterfellWench · 25/11/2018 11:48

Christmas jumper and cosy Christmas jammies.

Me and DH have the absolute divine pleasure of having no visitors over Christmas day and Boxing day. Utter heaven. Won't be lifting a finger, as we are having a 'family Christmas meal' at a restaurant with a dozen family members on the 23rd.

Fatasfook · 25/11/2018 11:49

Christmas jumper

Lockheart · 25/11/2018 11:49

Pyjamas and dressing gowns in the first half of the morning, then once presents are done everyone gets dressed (and usually puts on their new jumpers / socks) so we can take the dogs out for a long Christmas day walk.

Unless we're having people over for lunch we'll stay in jumpers and jeans all day. If people are coming over then obviously we dress more smartly!

EmeraldShamrock · 25/11/2018 11:52

Pyjamas until noon. We usually go to family so festive jumper dress, tights and boots, warm and cosy.

haverhill · 25/11/2018 11:52

DH and DS will dress normally, I like to wear a dress or something a bit more fancy than normal.

fieryginger · 25/11/2018 11:53

Both.

Eliza9917 · 25/11/2018 11:58

When I lived at home and didn't have to travel I don't think I bothered getting dressed. If I did it was just ordinary clothes. Now I travel home and go to dp's family too I make an effort.

This year (and forever more at the price of them) I've got irregular choice 'the clauses' shoes that light up & flash and I'm going to order a Christmas pattern dress, which I'll wear with a petticoat (that I've already got).

I think I also want one of those necklaces that look like tree lights Grin

Screamqueenz · 25/11/2018 12:04

We dress up, I've got a gold sequinned body con dress this year.

HelenaJustina · 25/11/2018 12:10

Formal for Mass but might change into something warmer for an afternoon walk, depends on the weather!

Asthenia · 25/11/2018 12:11

We all dress up, makeup etc! Can see why people don’t bother if there’s only a small group or you though.

Sallystyle · 25/11/2018 12:14

Cosy stuff.

This year I am working so I will probably wear a Xmas jumper. I don't normally do Xmas jumpers but will need to get in the spirit.

ImpendingDisaster · 25/11/2018 12:16

We dress for lunch/dinner. Usually I wear one of my several pairs of festive plaid wool trousers and a cashmere jumper.

ImpendingDisaster · 25/11/2018 12:16

Damn girl! Disco Christmas. I'm sure you'll look amazing.
