We mainly just use it to play music (it’s linked to our Spotify account), and as a timer for cooking, maybe ask it the time or the weather as well.
My OH’s parents have several and have them linked to the lights (“Alexa, turn off the living room lights”). To be honest I think that’s mainly used by FIL to irritate MIL by turning off the lights while he’s upstairs and she’s downstairs.

We have her on my kindle.
My DD loves to ask her to tell us a joke or sing us a song!!

She keeps playing Amazon music, do I pay for that??

Ask Alexa why fire engines are red.

My son loves to ask it to do silly things like 'meow like a cat' very strange
Also ask if she likes Google that one always amuses me.

When I discover I need something like bin bags I say Alexa put bin bags on my shopping list. When I get to.the supermarket the list of extras is on my phone

We like playing Hot Potato. I think she's quite good for party games

Can you 'broadcast' on Alexa? We have Google Home and you can broadcast - send a message to any other speakers in the network. I enjoy sending spooky, unexpected ones to DH when he's chilling out or telling the kids that dinner is ready. We've had full conversations over broadcast messages

I use it mainly for setting timers, listening to music and annoying people. Oh, and proving DH wrong when I need to Google stuff
You don't need a Spotify account as you can play genres of music but not specific tracks. Plus I'm tight and won't pay for Spotify premium.

Get Akinator. It's a very fun game. DD was obsessed with it for a while. Don't use Alexa anymore though. It's too creepy and intrusive IMO

Whenever my parents are here I find them asking her really daft things and giggling like kids. They are in their 80s
