I'm hardly her number one fan but I can't see how getting rid of her is the answer. They just don't seem to know what they're doing. It's an absolute mess whichever way you look at it.

Lots of vox pop interviews at the time suggested that plenty of people believed the bus claim. It was designed to make people shocked at "how much money we have to hand over to the EU" as if we would automatically be that much richer if we left. It was totally explicit (if mindbogglingly inaccurate) about that and it worked on a lot of people.

sunglasses123 · 15/11/2018 17:22

I agree with most of what has been said on this thread. She was a Remainer so this must be difficult for her. However Labour are a disgrace. They are only knocking her and this plan because they want to trigger a GE. Could you imagine that idiot with his anorak running this country? It is so so easy to knock ideas but have little in the way of helpful alternatives.

I wish we had organised a cross party team to work on Brexit rather than this back biting.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/11/2018 17:25

People have short memories. "No deal is better than a bad deal", "Brexit means Brexit". She didn't have to take the job, nor did she have to trigger A50. She could have told the country Brexit was not in their interest. She didn't So here we are. Reap what you sow.

MorningsEleven · 15/11/2018 17:26

i hardly 'feel sorry' for her - she knew what she was getting into, wouldn't have got the top job in any other circumstances, will draw a former PM's pension in retirement, etc

I agree. I can't work out if she was driven by hunger for power, arrogance, stupidity or a mixture of all three.

CwtchesAreTheBest · 15/11/2018 17:29

I am no fan of hers or the Conservative party but I think she has done her best in impossible circumstances. No one could deliver a brexit to keep everyone happy, it's not possible!!!
I admire her for keeping going despite all the criticism, nobody else was prepared to do it.

VanillaSugary · 15/11/2018 17:30

TM has balls of steel.

HoleyCoMoley · 15/11/2018 17:32

Bring back singing Dave, it's his fault, his arrogant thinking has got us here, let him sort it out and TM can walk away from the whole lot of them, its easy for them all to criticise but not so easy to come up with an alternative solution. There's no leadership challenge and if they had a people's vote and brexit won again then what, have another one till they get the result they want.

dawnacorns · 15/11/2018 17:33

TM has balls of steel. yes

Late to her press conference and just repeating herself. I’m bored of her to be honest.

PietariKontio · 15/11/2018 17:38

She's lacking in morals in many areas and done some awful things especially as foreign secretary, but out of that shit show of Tory ministers and brexiteers in general, you can at least she's not run away, even now knowing it's probably ending her time as PM

DO NOT bring back Dave! It may be his fault, he may deserve all the opprobrium, but he would fuck up the negotiations just as he fucked up the referendum itself, because fucking up is basically what he does best. I thought at the time, he and Osborne couldn't have played it better if they were actually in favour of Leave themselves. I don't think either of them is smart enough to have done it on purpose, though.

SunnyG0507 · 15/11/2018 17:49

Agree! She was a non-brexit one but being a PM so far at least she does not just run away.

chillpizza · 15/11/2018 17:50

Yes bored. I’m bored of hearing her voice repeating the same things over and over again and not actually answering questions.

ForalltheSaints · 15/11/2018 17:54

I blame those in the Conservative Party who have made things difficult for her, and the two Brexit secretaries who have been inept.

The thought of the rudest man in politics Michael Gove or the man who would make me prefer a military takeover (Boris Johnson) are both horrific.

M3lon · 15/11/2018 17:55

TM has balls of steel

why do balls get the credit for strength when I think we all know they are delicate, sensitive and retreat at the first sign of trouble?

On the flip side I don't think 'vag of steel' is going to take off as a phrase or saying anytime soon....but if it did then TM would qualify.

Jaxhog · 15/11/2018 17:56

she should have formed a cross party working group to come up with a way forward that was best for the whole of Britain.

Seriously? They'd still be arguing about what colour chairs to sit on!

Getting a Brexit deal was always going to be making a silk purse from a sows ear. That she has anything even resembling a silk purse is a bloody miracle.

The80sweregreat · 15/11/2018 17:57

Love or loath her , she isn't a quitter.
I bet many others would have just resigned.
It was the same old stuff she said this morning ; she must know it won't get through parliament but she's going to give it her best shot.

Helmetbymidnight · 15/11/2018 18:01

She fucked up massively by triggering article 50 without a plan, a general election that she lost her majority, and by going on and on about Brexit means Brexit like a non thinking idiot.

But yes there are far bigger shits involved in this debacle: boris, Rees mogg, gove, Davis, redmond and Farage. And all brexiteers who still don’t get thatbrexit means a fucked economy and a fucked gfa. It’s those who deserve most contempt.

PennyArcade · 15/11/2018 18:01

If there was GE soon, I would vote TM. Nobody else is up for the job. They may shout her down, disagree with decisions made by her party...resign even. Yet, nobody has come up with a more agreeable plan...or indeed, any alternative plan.

TM has balls of steel, that's for sure. I admire her grit and determination.

The easiest thing for her would be to walk away. She won't. She has worked hard on getting the best deal for Britain and she'll see it through.

Blackness78 · 15/11/2018 18:02

I watched her earlier and felt sorry for her. I voted leave and I'm definitely not a tory.

SilverDoe · 15/11/2018 18:03

I don’t like Theresa May, her attitude or policies but I’m so disgusted by the way the “Brexiteers” are ganging up on her like hounds after blood.

A vote of no confidence is one thing but they way they go about it and the language used is very off putting, and once again they’re hair pushing their own self serving agenda rather than giving shit about what’s actually happening. Can’t wait til this is all overs

SilverDoe · 15/11/2018 18:04

Over.*
