I'm hardly her number one fan but I can't see how getting rid of her is the answer. They just don't seem to know what they're doing. It's an absolute mess whichever way you look at it.

Exactly Bluntness

Rees Mogg or Johnson will be PM now. Failing that it could be Sajid Javid or Hammond if we are ‘lucky’.

PiggyPlumPie · 15/11/2018 13:32

If I were her, I would quit and say fuck the lot of you - you sort it out yourselves! There really is no way for her to win this one.

maddening · 15/11/2018 13:32

17m voted leave, 16m voted stay, 13m didn't vote - yet people vote with 3 options - this deal, no deal, stay. All facts of all three options laid out with stable and educated opinions on the impact and potential outcomes of each - no campaigns just an information pack with solid information - available on line or on request by mail. And require a minimum level of support for the option with the highest vote.

Loopytiles · 15/11/2018 13:32

Tory fantacist Brexiteers and Cameron are to blame.

Getting a “good deal” was always going to be impossible though, so taking the job was foolish!

dawnacorns · 15/11/2018 13:33

It makes us as a country look more foolish than we already did imo. Massive flounce out of the EU and can't agree what to do next or who should be in charge. Pathetic.

OP posts:
dawnacorns · 15/11/2018 13:34

Yes that would have been better maddening

OP posts:
maddening · 15/11/2018 13:34

And I resent mps jumping ship - conservatives caused this mess - the country needs stability in government through what is a turbulent time

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 15/11/2018 13:34

She had a shit show to deal with, she’s shovelled it and now alll Brexiteers are shrieking about the severance bill which has to be paid as though it’s come as a surprise.

Not if you did your fucking homework before voting it didn’t.

But too many Leavers didn’t bother doing any research preferring instead to rely on the wording printed on a bus promising a land of hope and glory plus extra finding for health care,, Whoops!

Personally I take my hat off to TM for getting any kind of agreement.

And I prefer the agreement to a summer of hell thanks to hardline no deal Brexit which would affect the population unless they are beyond wealthy like Farage and Boris,

By the way WHY has he gone out of his way to get EU residency for his family? Makes you think doesn’t it?

carrotflinger · 15/11/2018 13:35

I am quite impressed with her actually. She is in the most horrendous position and doing her best.
At least she hasn't run off (yet) as soon as things started to go pear-shaped (like Cameron). He calls a referendum thinking no way will people vote to leave and we can put the issue to rest at last (and hopefully shut up the leavers in the Tory party). He then doesn't get the result he wants and he's off like a shot.
So I think TM has a lot going for her (don't agree with her on most things politically though) but I do admire aspects of her character.
Don't like the deal at all and can't see how any leavers could be happy with it. But I don't see what else could have been possible. I am a remainer by the way.

maddening · 15/11/2018 13:35

That is what I think should happen now, by mid December

twelv · 15/11/2018 13:37

I feel for her. Most of my family call her an 'evil witch' on almost a daily basis. It's actually made me question why they are so full of bile and are so damning of a woman that they've never met!

She's in a difficult position and no one else could say they would be perfect.

TooTrueToBeGood · 15/11/2018 13:37

I don't see how she can stay. Negotiating the hardest deal in history is tough enough, doing so when the other side know you don't have support within your own government makes it an impossible task.

dawnacorns · 15/11/2018 13:38

I think she does come across as trying to do what is best for the country. Unlike the rest of them, who are trying to do what's best for themselves.

OP posts:
dawnacorns · 15/11/2018 13:39

Yes that's true tootrue The question is who could pull them all together. Just seems like nobody could.

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 15/11/2018 13:40

I agree with your last post op. It is easier to criticise than sort it out.

This is what leaving the eu looks like. It is not possible for us to get what we want. They will let us leave with no deal. We will be much worse off in that scenario than the eu will be.

MorrisZapp · 15/11/2018 13:40

Also I know it's an epic cliche to blame the media but they are hugely complicit. Nigel Farage has ever held any public office yet for years he was given an equal platform with proper politicians. He's an embarrassment, but more embarrassing are the intelligent adults who broadcast him to the nation on a daily basis.

SilentIsla · 15/11/2018 13:40

Such naivety on this thread.

SilentIsla · 15/11/2018 13:41

How many of you voted Leave? Consider yourselves to blame. Oh and thanks a lot.

AornisHades · 15/11/2018 13:41

She's in a difficult position but she chose to put herself in it. And after the last election she chose to get into an agreement with the DUP which made her postion even more difficult.
It's not all her fault but she wanted to lead the shitshow of a party that got us here.

Justanothernameonthepage · 15/11/2018 13:41

I don't like her, but I do admire her. She's doing her best in an impossible situation, surrounded by backseat drivers who insist there are easy answers without actually suggesting anything that works.
Jacob Rees Mog I can see gunning for the role - someone who can't even change a nappy running the country. And pampers come with easy to understand instructions.
Think the only PM I'd want back if we couldn't make Cameron clear up his mess would be Brown. He's used to being disliked and practical enough to point out the bloody obvious.

TooTrueToBeGood · 15/11/2018 13:42

But no, i don't blame her. I blame Cameron for giving the public the opportunity to vote on an issue far too complex for most to understand. I blame the politicians on all sides who failed spectacularly to debate factually and informatively in the run up to the referendum. I blame all those people who thought the status quo was bad enough to merit taking a giant leap, blindfolded, into the unknown.

Perch · 15/11/2018 13:42

Agree, she is in an impossible situation and cannot win whatever she does. All the men that landed us in this, posturing, critisizing and sniping, all waiting for their turn once she sorted it out best she can. Awful behavious from the lot of them.

Am I being incredible naive in thinking that if no camp (leave or remain) is happy, its probably a good thing? I think she’s tried to do whats best as opposed to serve either camp.

TheChickenOfTruth · 15/11/2018 13:43

Nothing makes me more livid that BoJo occasionally popping his head up and shouting "that's not good enough! Will of the people! I could do a better job of this" and then scurrying off back to his safe space where he doesn't have to do any of the actual work.

Also, I'm pretty sure TM was trying to lose the last election - think of all the hideously unpopular policies she proposed right before - dementia tax, fox hunting legalisation, etc - almost universally hated. Think she was trying to make the whole shitshow Labour's problem, so they could follow the time-old tradition of blaming them for everything wrong in the country.

SilentIsla · 15/11/2018 13:45

Blaming “men”? Okaaay...
