I'm hardly her number one fan but I can't see how getting rid of her is the answer. They just don't seem to know what they're doing. It's an absolute mess whichever way you look at it.

I'm not surprised at the mail changing tack, to be fair to them they have always been fairly adept at reading the public mood. And the public mood is get it done

Poll after poll is to reverse brexit via public vote, the mail panders to certain type of Tory voter.

These people have vastly under estimated the intelligence of the british public and our sense of fair play

Can't stop laughing!
Intelligence? its the complete lack of that has led us to where we are now- the worlds laughing stock!

As to fair play; the referendum wasn't run fairly at all, even when illegality and corruption are proven, all sides get away scott free and everyone says "that's politics, they all lie"

bellinisurge · 16/11/2018 10:25

I saw the Mail this morning when I was at Aldi stocking up on my tins as well as my normal shop . Much as the Mail repulses me, I was glad to see it.

Lovemademe · 16/11/2018 10:25

The Mail may have turned but judging by the public comments under the article, the average Mail reader hasn’t.

LonelyandTiredandLow · 16/11/2018 10:35

love exactly - for decades they have been feeding their readers a regular diet of horseshit. They do not want to change to real food, it tastes too real. Like, not as simple as the simple option they were given before where it was all just so EASY!

FlowersAndHerts · 16/11/2018 10:36

I can't believe how many people are commenting in the Mail. I wonder whether most of those comments are being made by Russian bots.

KennDodd · 16/11/2018 10:42

I wonder that too. Putin is so close to pushing us over the cliff edge of no deal.

LonelyandTiredandLow · 16/11/2018 10:48

I think we are at peak nutjob alert. I really wouldn't be surprised if there is an attack on someone in the following days. The far right are overly emotionally invested in this under some guise of patriotism. The papers have been fanning the flames and not giving the full story. It took less than this for Jo Cox to be brutally murdered and that all seems to have been forgotten by Brexiteers in parliament. Unfortunately for them the pitchforks may now be changing direction, towards them as a result of their failed promises.

PineappleSunrise · 16/11/2018 10:55

I stopped reading BTL comments some time ago, when I was shown how easy it is to set up a bot to auto-comment from a set list of 100+ talking points below any article tagged with the topics you want to talk about. Honestly, manipulating an appearance of "grassroots feeling" is a piece of piss these days.

Helmetbymidnight · 16/11/2018 11:24

The entire mess was because politicians over estimated the british public and didn't realise so many people would want to deliberately shoot themselves in the foot.

Bluntness100 · 16/11/2018 11:33

Well at least Gove isn't quitting. He'd have proven himself one of the most dishonrable man in politics if he had. The fact we are sitting at only two resignations, the Brexit minister, Dominic whatever his name is, and mcvey, shows that the rest of them, Gove included, have some sense of the issues the country faces.

I can't get over the Brexit minister quitting. Seriously the dude had one job. That was his job, hes not saying I could have got better. Oh no. It's embarrassing for him.

And mcvey, she's probably thought Teresa mays time is up so she's hoping that she will get a good job with the next leader. I really hope karma bites her in the arse. These peoples careers should be over.

I suspect many of the daily mail comments were made at the start, they have a bad habit of not writing new articles, just adding to an existing one.

Helmetbymidnight · 16/11/2018 11:40

Totally. Ive negotiated this deal...nah...actually...I don't like it...

PineappleSunrise · 16/11/2018 11:44

TWO Brexit Ministers quitting because they couldn't deliver on their promises, after spending years waving their hands banging on about how easy it was all going to be. FFS.

Helmetbymidnight · 16/11/2018 11:45

Absolutely.

Fucking twats.

MadeleineMaxwell · 16/11/2018 11:56

I think we're looking at a bit of a sea change coming. Even Dominic Grieve is calling for a people's vote as this deal would be so damaging to our economy and is not as good as remaining. The Daily Fail is even considering jumping ship by the looks.

I think it's finally beginning to hit home to some people that it's this deal, no deal or no Brexit. This will entrench some of the more rabid positions, but also swing others.

It's all fascinating, really. I just wish I was watching it from outside, rather than wondering whether I should be stockpiling lentils and weeping for our international reputation.

PineappleSunrise · 16/11/2018 12:08

Actually, 3 - one of the junior ministers who quit when Davis did was Steve Baker, who today is the ringleader behind the attempts to subject the PM to a non-confidence vote.

Helmetbymidnight · 16/11/2018 12:13

Dominic Grieve's always been a remainer, no?

Daily Mail had a change of editor - out when the rabid Brexiteer Dacre and in came the editor of the Mail on Sunday - a remainer.

MadeleineMaxwell · 16/11/2018 12:15

Has he? Oops - too many posh blokes with similar names for me to keep up with! Grin

Bluntness100 · 16/11/2018 12:16

Totally. Ive negotiated this deal...nah...actually...I don't like it...

I know it's the most bizzare thing I've seen. He's actually acting like it's fuck all to do with him and he had some other job. He's not saying sorry I couldn't get us something better, just oh it's not a critisicm of the civil servants who negotiated it or Teresa May but I can't support it.

Eh you do understand that was your responsibility so you're saying you failed and don't want to take the blame for it, so are pretending you had nothing to do with it. And if you did have nothing to do with it, why are you taking a salary and what the fuck have you been doing all this time?

Helmetbymidnight · 16/11/2018 12:32

true!

Dearie fucking me.

LonelyandTiredandLow · 16/11/2018 13:47

Raab has learnt that from Boris, Davis, Farage and Cameron. The minute shit gets real, leave it to the woman to clear up. Flouncers. If I were TM I'd be pointing this out in interviews and suggesting they ask whoever was in charge of whatever bit the person giving her grief wants to debate.

PennyArcade · 16/11/2018 14:36

So..Gove doesn't want to be Brexit Minister...There's a surprise! Hmm But Thank Fuck for that! He made a right mess of education.

He has his eye on being PM. God help us all!! 😱

GladAllOver · 16/11/2018 17:14

Surely Brexit Minister is a non-job now?
The EU aren't going to renegotiate. It's take it or leave it time.

YouBetterWORK · 16/11/2018 17:17

All the little slithery bastards want the PM job, just not now. All jeering for TM to go, but if she actually did a Cartman tomorrow and said screw you guys, I'm going home; they'd bluster themselves into oblivion with "you do it" "no after you" "no I insist, you go first" "no YOU go first"

Buddywoo · 16/11/2018 17:29

Rothermere is a europhile who lives in France. He put up with Dacre even though he didn.t agree with his views on Europe. The new editor is more in Rothermere's line. However , if profits drop watch for another turnaround.

ChampagneCharley · 16/11/2018 17:30

The job of PM for this was always going to be a poisoned chalice. I’m getting hacked off with them just chucking in the towel at every opportunity. In any other job you’d have to stay and sort the mess out!
I often wonder if everyone knew that every bloody day for the two years after the referendum we’d have to hear about Brexit more people would've voted to stay??
