Daily Fail story here
21 babies! That's some achievement. I cannot believe her body is still in one piece. I feel sorry for those kids though. There's absolutely no way they can all have the individual attention they need growing up. Four kids maybe, perhaps 6 at an absolute push but 21 seems like collecting trophies for a hobby to me. It'd be interesting to see what families those children decide to have when the time comes. It seems like she's putting her own want for babies ahead of her existing children's wellbeing & that isn't healthy. I'm curious that she's practically guaranteed herself an endless supply of babies as her children have children. But they're supposedly paying for everything themselves so we're not allowed to say anything against them. I don't agree with it. Tell me I'm being U.

Having followed them years ago and Sue’s blog, they are kind of fascinating. The financial aspect is only if interest because the headlines and This Morning interviews always claim they are self sufficient and (I don’t care that they are not) but it’s wrong when she herself has stated numerous times they claim tax credits. Tax credits take into account your earnings AFTER your expenditures. So your profits. So if the bakery makes a certain amount but it’s costs are similar then the tax credits would be huge. And if any kids are registered disabled (I’ve no idea) this would increase it. However that is based on knowledge previously put out there by themselves and not this year. I’d imagine the filmed holidays are subsided or paid for by the companies filming.

mumto2babyboys · 10/11/2018 15:38

It says he had a vasectomy during the 9th pregnancy and then got it reversed

Also they have been in the public eye for years so can people stating they are claiming tax credits please provide some proof because it would have been exposed by now surely and they would have gotten paid for giving their side of the story and also hmrc see articles in newspapers and act upon that info

Surely it would have been exposed if they are claiming tax credits?

Fallingout · 10/11/2018 15:39

@mumto2babyboys benefit cap doesn’t apply to working parents or parents with a disabled child. Their children born since the cut off would only get child benefit and not tax credits.

dontalltalkatonce · 10/11/2018 15:40

*Also they have been in the public eye for years so can people stating they are claiming tax credits please provide some proof because it would have been exposed by now surely and they would have gotten paid for giving their side of the story and also hmrc see articles in newspapers and act upon that info

How would anyone have proof they are claiming tax credits other than the HMRC, mum? That's confidential information. The family has said they have and then been cagey about it. What's to expose? It's not a crime to claim them Hmm.

Fallingout · 10/11/2018 15:41

@mumto2babyboys why and by whom? They have always been careful and claiming tax credits is often not viewed as a benefit like income support. Her blog was taken down. She also used to post on babycentre when I was on there.

madnessIsay · 10/11/2018 15:41

I mean in terms of what they cost the “system” its small fry to the anount of money my council has lost in council homes they have sold off.

Fallingout · 10/11/2018 15:43

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit no worries but it quite outing! It’s less than half what they have! Enough to be batshit crazy with homework, sleepovers, play dates, rehearsals Grin

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 10/11/2018 15:49

fallingout it was a type before I think moment and indiscreet of me to ask. Smile

mumto2babyboys · 10/11/2018 15:50

Every other celeb or anyone in the news gets exposed

Kym Marsh got exposed fir buying her parents a house and then, they claimed housing benefit for the rent she charged them

I just think it would have leaked out if it was true, some journalist would have made their career out of exposing them

greendale17 · 10/11/2018 15:52

Oh, you get over yourself, @Lekky12. Everyone judges, whether they want to admit it or not. The Radfords arguably made it other people's business when they opened themselves up to numerous press reports and seedy reality TV shows.

^I agree

mumto2babyboys · 10/11/2018 15:53

Can anyone provide proof that they are claiming tax credits for the 12 children they get child benefit for?

I am basing my judgement on them lying to the public or not about claiming nothing

Roussette · 10/11/2018 15:53

I think what they claim is legit.

However, do not under estimate how much they receive from TV, products, gifts.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 10/11/2018 15:53

Is it really the money that concerns people though or more about concern for the kids?
I haven't seen any of the documentaries but as people have said upthread, the kids seem sad and desperate for some peace/space. That is what I find concerning.

dontalltalkatonce · 10/11/2018 15:56

I just think it would have leaked out if it was true, some journalist would have made their career out of exposing them

Eh? They're not celebs, they're just people who reproduced a lot. It's hardly 'career making' for journos Hmm. It's confidential info unless they divulge it, you know, like your taxes if you're not in public office Hmm. Why on Earth would people on MN be able to provide 'proof'? You're sounding a bit . . . erm, unhealthy here.

Spanglylycra · 10/11/2018 15:58

I'm ruined physically and mentally from 2 kids so I don't know how I'd physically function at 21! It must be auto pilot.

mumto2babyboys · 10/11/2018 15:59

Not the money. Just if they are lying or not

Which is fair enough. Pp said they are claiming but I couldn't find anything to expose them to say they are and surely there don't have a confidentiality clause like footballers and the mega rich

So how come no newspapers have exposed them if they are claiming more than child benefit and they have been in the public eye for years

Obviously they get paid for tv programs but that's public and hrmc would check that also

Fallingout · 10/11/2018 16:00

I’d imagine documentaries have changed things and I do not care personally if they claim tax credits now, they certainly did until not very long ago. I wish they wouldn’t have said they claimed no benefits as it was unnecessary.
The only point I’d have any interest in is the children and why they are celebrated for having more.

mumto2babyboys · 10/11/2018 16:02

Agreed! it is an insane amount of children

thighofrelief · 10/11/2018 16:15

Haven't rtft (no time got 2 kids!) Grin

I felt that Sue was strangely infantile, almost frozen in time at 13 or 14. My 2 kids are YAs now and the amount of emotional support and virtual hand holding with navigating independence is a fair amount. I also have a 10 year age gap and the eldest in no way wanted to help raise the youngest. He obviously didn't need to but the older children must be picking up a lot of slack re the younger.

If i were them i would feel very, very lucky not to have any children with a disability, one of mine does and it takes so much physical and emotional energy away from the other.

Cambalamb · 10/11/2018 16:16

Impressed that her body can cope, but it can't be good for her surely!

Cambalamb · 10/11/2018 16:17

What would the child benefit be for that amount of chn, bearing in mind some would be no longer claiming it?

surferjet · 10/11/2018 16:26

The poor woman’s heart must be knackered after 21 pregnancies.
I’ll be shocked if she lives past 65.

Cranb0rne · 10/11/2018 16:31

Feckin irresponsible given how over populated the world is

MysticFlyTrap · 10/11/2018 16:34

I agree ihopeyyourcakeisshit it's not money that should concern people. Those kids are picking up a lot of slack when they should be out like other teenagers, not taking care or helping with younger siblings

Thesearmsofmine · 10/11/2018 16:35

I don’t be really care about the tax credit things but I imagine that they used to claim them as Sue once said on her blog, then the tv offers and newspaper articles started rolling in, the money made from those added to any bakery income maybe has taken them over the threshold to claim tax credits now. So they can now say they don’t claim them,
