Im absolutely disgusted at this and it shows how far the stigma against social housing tenants has gone.

Apparently the men turned themselves in. I wasn't expecting that.

Greatorb · 06/11/2018 07:38

So, the men have turned themselves in, but none of the women. Speaks volumes imo.

Ladymargarethall · 06/11/2018 08:05

Greatorb what do you mean 'speaks volumes'? I am probably being a bit thick, but I don't understand.

LittleLionMansMummy · 06/11/2018 08:08

I don't understand either. What do you mean Greatorb?

Aeroflotgirl · 06/11/2018 08:10

Words fail me, when I saw that clip. I am sure they would not be laughing if they or their relatives were killed in the fire, or if they found themselves in a similar situation. Making fun and having a laugh at people who have tragically died in that fire and relatives and friends of those who were affected is thoroughly disgusting. They should be prosecuted for breaching the peace, and other offences.

Aeroflotgirl · 06/11/2018 08:11

Those individuals are supposed to be university students, supposidly intelligent people, they are as stupid as a pile of bricks and should be kicked out of uni.

FekkoThePenguin · 06/11/2018 08:12

In their 40s and 50s?

Aeroflotgirl · 06/11/2018 08:16

Really Fekko, seriously! It is even worse, how would they feel if people took the piss out of them being in a fire, or their kids dying in the fire, or friends or relatives, they should be prosecuted.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/11/2018 08:20

I don't understand what Greatorb means, either

Santaclarita · 06/11/2018 08:23

Ugh how fucking sick. The sad thing is they will basically just get a slap on the wrist too for that. Sick fuckers. Hope they lose their jobs for that and lose their homes. The people from grenfell can have the homes instead, don't think all of them have been rehomed yet after all.

Talith · 06/11/2018 08:32

Of course it's abhorrent and people frequently are. I've never understood why London dungeon or jack the ripper tours are so popular when they are essentially ways for people to salaciously enjoy torture and awful awful murders.

Disgusting as it is, a public order offence is about as much as the law can do, on the basis it's sufficiently offensive that it might have or might yet caused/cause a breach of the peace.

Good, I suppose Talith, it happened way before most of us were around so probably we are detached from it, as Grenfell happened very recently, and most of us remember it, it is more significant to us.

longwayoff · 06/11/2018 08:52

Repellent people beyond description. Lets be thankful we don't live in their heads which must be abhorrent pits of filth.

mummysherlock · 06/11/2018 10:30

Sick, vile and depraved individuals! To gain amusement from mocking a tragedy where so many lost their lives, I couldn’t watch all of the video and cannot begin to imagine the distress this will have caused the survivors and bereaved relatives and friends of those that died. I’m sure I heard a young child in the background aswell, what hope does he or she have growing up around adults like that.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 06/11/2018 10:51

hey should be prosecuted for breaching the peace, and other offences.

What other offences?

What they did was monumentally distasteful and stupid but some of the clamouring on here and elsewhere for these morons to get their 'comeuppance' has a certain whiff of 'pitch forked mob mentality' about it.

They have been nationally shamed online and by main stream media, shunned by their local community and I would not be surprised if they lose their jobs as well over this stunt.

SilentIsla · 06/11/2018 11:21

The men have turned themselves in but what about the squawking women who were also involved. These people are beneath contempt.

SilentIsla · 06/11/2018 11:23

That is as it should be. No employer wants to be associated with creatures like them.

I don't disagree but, but as I alluded to already there seems to be a desire from some for some kind of physical retribution as well. These men are twats but it is uneasy watching a good old fashioned outraged mob get their knickers in a twist all over social media.

JaneJeffer · 06/11/2018 11:56

What kind of a mind would come up with that? And then for all the others to join in. Horrible people.

jennymor123 · 06/11/2018 11:57

What's often not appreciated is that in addition to the stress caused to survivors and residents of Grenfell by this kind of thing, it also adds considerably to the workload of those leading residents' groups. Solicitors have to be consulted; comments written; calls taken from upset members, and so on - while at the same time they have their own health issues to deal with. And on top of that is the constant ongoing battle to get to the truth. For example, a 2 hour meeting on 29 October held by Kensington Council at which the panel of 'experts' tasked with looking into the toxicity of the fire managed to not answer a single question put to them, while at the same time constantly playing down the levels of toxicity, even though they have yet to actually test for it!

NRPDad · 06/11/2018 11:59

It is disgraceful.

The comments calling it as disgraceful on the Daily Mail have hundreds of red votes.

If a similar distasteful joke had been performed and put on social media about Hillsborough, Lockerbie, IRA Bombings, 7/7 or something there would be uproar.

Unfortunately it seems that because the majority of residents and dead were immigrants (or descendents of and therefore not 'British') many people with right wing views simply do not care.

This country is becoming an increasingly nasty place. I'm ashamed to be British.

NRPDad · 06/11/2018 12:00

Also a woman on the video openly admit she made some of the people for the model. Why did she not hand herself in? She should take some blame but guess the men are white knighting for her lol.

Giantbanger · 06/11/2018 12:03

NRPDad I can't comment on Lockerbie and 7/7 but there have been similar "jokes" for years about terrorist atrocities perpetrated during the Troubles, on both sides.

Clawdy · 06/11/2018 12:09

It's frightening to think of someone making the cardboard tower, cutting out figures, drawing faces on them.......such sick minds. I hope they are all named and shamed.
