He seem like either he is really ill or he's pissed.

The just asked him if he's still celebrating his birthday (reference to him bein drunk)

No it's not funny.

The rare times Iv seen someone on a chat show who were obviously drunk or out of it in some way it has inevitably been followed eventually by the fact that the person has addiction issues.

I'm not watching but I've been in the audience for The Last Leg and drinking is encouraged. They all drink during the ad breaks - Alex appeared to be drinking champagne when we were there, I think the others had beer.
