He seem like either he is really ill or he's pissed.

The just asked him if he's still celebrating his birthday (reference to him bein drunk)

Not only have they not gently ushered him off, someone seems to have replenished his glass during the ads.

I think these "edgy" chat shows encourage on screen drinking. The guests on Graham Norton are quite often half cut.

That's true Holdingon. I think you can tell a lot about a person when they're drunk. You rarely meet a nasty drunk who isn't also nasty when under pressure.

Poor Jessica didn't look amused but at least he wasn't getting all handy like many "likeable" "harmless" drunks do.

So very disappointed in the last leg. This is not a responsible or acceptable decision by the producers to let a guest on so very clearly very drunk.

I'm afraid all I kept thinking of were the likes of Richard harris, Oliver reed, Sean Hughes, George best, Richard burton...

Surely we know better by now than to make out such drunkenness is amusing?

Graphista yes I said to DH I hope this is birthday madness and not a reflection of his day to day life. It reminded me of Oliver Reed, George Best etc and I thought we were past finding that entertaining.
